"When you have your evaluation each year, you get a very small raise. Then they cut your hours back so that you don't make anymore take home than you did before. Right after I got my yearly evaluation earlier this year, they cut my hours back to 35 hours

Maybe it's a proof that "everybody has its own price". And care2 is showing that its price is low.

I also hate Walmart ads here.

This is part of the Republican agenda of cowtowing to the corporate need of Cheap labor.. possibly even free..as part of the free market capitalism that they keep worshipping at the alter of. If only they can figure out a way to force people to work for nothing; oh yea, they have that too; privatized prison labor camps.. making furniture, carpeting, etc... welcome to the US gulag...The rest they export to foreign countries with no labor rights, no human rights, no environmental protections.. keep voting Republican for more of the same and WORSE.

What price and what does "power of money corrupting everybody" mean?

I think people deserve some credit for the ability to make choices without advertising. Ads do not dictate when/where/how my little bit of money is spent and to me when someone pays a price there is some compromise.

If they get what they pay for which is ad space ~ok, very likely that space will show up along side our posted news, shares, comments and opinions which to my knowledge are not affected by influence or authority outside of Care2 terms of service agreement. So, looks like business as usual to me, unless there is more to this.

I suspect a healthy advertising budget attracts all types of offers and I guess I would rather see that money spent here than with some unknown or some other business representing positions opposed by majority of Care2 members.

Big corp. must pay for ads so they can stay where we don't pay to have our say, isn't it better spent here than someplace with less than appealing conditions?

I see some irony but mostly, poetic justice.(IMHO)

It's time for People Power all over the world. We are the ones that can make or break a business, a government, a bank, etc. etc. Why don't we use this power???? I always wonder why we don't. It's fear... it's greed... it's ignorance... it's selfishness... it's I'm ok, I don't care if you are... it's laziness...it's SAD that we have come to this point in life and still let everyone waltz right over us and turn around and thank them. They should be thanking us for working with them (not just WalMart). We are the ones who do the dirty work for all these fat cats and get paid a pittance for it. We should make them beg us to come to work for them. That's the way it should be... sadly...but I keep hoping and dreaming.

As a former employee of Walmart, I have decided without a doubt... that... I hate Walmart! Petition signed, and seriously thinking of posting 'Walmart' experience that I've had... Thank you, Linda.
