WHO: Joseph Kony is #1 on the International Criminal Courtís indicted list. As the leader of the Lordís Resistance Army (LRA), he has abducted over 30,000 children & forced them to be child soldiers. He has remained at large for more than two decades.

There are so many battles each of us face in our homes, our communities and our country. I think to some degree, everyone is aware of what's going on. Until now, I felt my responsibility was to my own community and country...the place where my children will grow up and have to live. Then my son sent me the "Kony2012" video on FB. As I watched, my 4 year old daughter walked up and started to watch. Then she gave me a hug and said "I love you Mommy." I kissed her on the head.........and I decided to get involved. I decided it was my responsibility as a mother, a woman....a person. Get involved...help...it's everyone's responsibility.

Important read before forming an opinion:

Controversy over video producers too : A video calling to bring a notorious Ugandan warlord to justice has gone massively viral online, but serious concerns have also been raised about the group responsible for posting it.

Granted, Kony is just one of many evil men who kidnap, torture, and brainwash children for use in war and prostitution, but if there is any way to bring him down, then I sincerely hope it is done. Sadly, the problems of Uganda pretty much ensure that another guy just like him will rise to take his place. But we can always hope that this is the start of something better for Uganda.

I support standing against great evil until the fall of the regime, but

The world must understand that the U.S. can not invade every foreign country with a "Kony". There are millions of Konies' across the globe, catching this one rebel is a step towards greater good, but in all reality where a kony is dead a kony is born. Every country has sick bastards that abuse all people not only children. The ipod factory is a sick place, i don't see people stopping Apple. Mexican cartel are stealing female children daily, and warehousing them as sex slaves daily. There are even cartel positioned right here in southern California.
My point is as much as many people want to help, this is a military game, that involves military strategy in order for change to surface. Unless we declare an official war on Child abuse, how can we get anywhere?
That is an extremely drastic move.

Even then the children will never ever be completely safe! Why? -->because there are even Konies' in our school systems, families, government. When i say Kony I speaking of the vicious sadistic people that willingly hurt children, etc. for for personal gain.

even with that reality,I cannot say that I will ever lose hope for the greater good, May the heavens be with us.

I've been seeing a lot of discussion of this video, which I think is great. Awareness is a good thing. There are apparently some problems with the solution raised by Invisible Children, but I hope people who watch this video will use it as a starting point to learn more about Kony and the problems in Africa. What Kony is doing is wrong and should be stopped. We just need to find a way to stop him that doesn't also empower other people who are also violent and doing horrible things.

Rosie G, that there are many places where children get abused and we can't help them all should not stop us! Those children deserve much better, and if we can help even a fraction of those children, at least we're helping some. If our country can fight wars for oil, we should be willing to fight for the lives of so many innocent children.

''SIGNED''.......this is so HORRIBLE the way these children have had to live. This is no life. I can understand why, Jacob wanted to die. Having to live day after day being starved, beaten, sexually abused, mentally abused, tortured and being scared every minute of the day. KONY needs to have the same thing done to him every single day for the rest of his miserable life. I hope and pray KONY is captured and punished SEVERELY. God Bless Jacob and all the other children and I pray they all have a better life!!!!

American Refugee Committee International and Global Partners for Development are both organizations that would be more worthwhile to contribute to. Look into them, they both got top ratings at charitynavigator.org and are working to solve the root problems that are creating villains like Joseph Kony.
