From Tahlia:
"My dream is for 100 orphaned and abandoned children in Burma to have fresh, clean, safe water. The Andrew Youth Development Centre takes in children who have no-one else to care for them. The Centre provides these kids with basics like education, food and health care which would not otherwise be granted to them.
I have visited the delightful kids who live at the Centre for the last three years, and since the first time they have captured my heart with their gorgeous smiles. They have a kind and generous attitude towards each other, despite a lower standard of living than we enjoy in the West. Hearing them sing is always a highlight of my trip. They are truly precious despite coming from desperate situations caused by no fault of their own.
Last year nutritionist visited the Centre as a part of the team, to assess the health of the children, and found many of the children were extremely dehydrated. The children were presenting with headaches, high-blood pressure, poor concentration and a myriad of other health problems, all of which are caused by dehydration. She told them that drinking water was especially important as the temperature can easily reach 30 degrees in Winter. However, many of the children refused to drink more because of the foul smell and taste of the water. In addition to this the water tanks do not store adequate water due to constant leaks. As a result of this there is a muddy patch near the entrance of both dorms.
I believe that these children deserve to be healthy and have clean, fresh desirable drinking water, just like children in Australia. $5000 would go so far towards a better, healthier future for them."

I guess that's a malfunctioning feature on the site, there is no email coming in. I now refreshed the site and am getting "already voted" above the number which remained at 495... let's hope it was counted. Will FWD as well.
