Actor David Carradine, a born seeker and cult idol who broke through as the willing student called "grasshopper" in the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu" and decades later as leader of an assassin squad in "Kill Bill," was found dead Thursday in Thailand.

I am deeply saddened. I used to love watching him in the 70s in 'Kung Fu' and have always had a soft spot for him. I am so sad that he felt he had to take his life. I feel very much for his family. I know what they are going through.

I do not believe he took his own life. According to his philosophy of life and his excitement to go and do this movie, this does not make any sense. Irregardless a wonderful talented man is gone. My heart and prayers are with the family.

I grew up watching "Kung Fu" and enjoyed all his movies. He was a very interesting, thoughtful and motivational person out side of his acting and performing talents. I am not convinced it was suicide, and hope for a full investigation.

Just like INXS LEAD SINGER ACCIDENTAL DEATH

Caradine had apparently practiced autoerotic stimulation and was accused of incest in his last divorce; divorce court filings shows that his most recent ex-wife once accused the actor of "deviant sexual behavior which was potentially deadly."

Studies show up to 1,000 deaths annually in America are r/t autoerotic stimulation and ruled suicide. There is a very fine line between hypoxia and death and Davids "safety net" failed.

People need to be educated.

I can not believe he took his own life. Maybe something will confirm this but then again you never know but why would he be naked ? So sad whatever happened.

Bill is right about the autoerotic deaths being a serious and rarely talked about problem, and that it appears to be the case with David Carradine. It is also a strong possibility that it was a murder made to look like that to both cause embarrasment and to discourage investigation. Wouldn't it have been easy for him to find a female "friend" for the evening.

Yet another from the days of my youth passes. With each of these passings, I feel a sad emptiness. Yes truly we all will miss him as we already do the others of his acting generation and before that have gone. "When the gold of the day meets the blue of the night", "I'll be seeing you", "Thanks for the memories", "Mwah". Not just the ses themes bur many more race through my mind. But if we remember and pass along the benefits these actors bestowed upon us, they will always be with us.

Kung Fu was one-of-a-kind show, that featured meaningful dialogue, ethics, philosophy, respect for all of nature, non-violence, critical thinking skills, mind-over-matter, relativity, balance, harmony.and racial tolerance (sorely needed today) David Carradine was a perfect fit for the memorable Kwai Chang Caine character. All the cast and crew were quite extraordinary. Although the show lasted but three seasons, it was indelibly imprinted on my mind never to be forgotten (okay-okay I have it on DVD so I'll never really forget) :)

BTW: I agree with Michelle W., Elaine H., Fred W. and Collie Girl I have a sneaking suspicion that he didn't commit suicide. Bangkok is a great city to grease the palms of the "right authorities" if you want to make things happen; like amended police sheets and/or altered medical investigations.

Has anybody heard any news that have a factual base in terms of how he died and his lifestyle? Set up or suicide...I do not want to believe that he took his own life..yet..if he did I certainly would think no less of him either...I feel that often it is the most creative ingenious people who fin this world the most difficult to cope with...if he accidentally did do it (I hope not of course) I would not think less of him either...we all have are weirdnesses..I am curious what people think.
