Because these species are so common in captivity and are small, I think people tend to forget that they are small parrots, that they exist in the wild and are the native species of other countries. Lovebirds are from Africa.

Years ago I had a peached faced lovebird and she was only in her cage at bedtime. I let her free in my apartment all day long. She was one of my best pets!

Parrots are the ONLY birds with a specialized brain which ''holds'' learned memory....this explains why they're so smart! They're also VERY LONG LIVED....and, if you're thinking of getting one, please be sure you realize the time commitment! A parrot can very well become a legacy to your heirs!
