It's like the big lie. The bigger and more preposterous the political lie told by a president - and the more it is echoed by administration officials and the corporate media - the more it is considered fact.

as long as any being lives in fear, hate, exploitation and death at the hands of man so shall all men live under this same threat, don't fool yourself no one is free as long as another is oppressed. withdraw your consent for as long as we agree to the small things we have agreed to the big ones, the pebble seems so small but its effects are far reaching
protect life, prosecute those that seek to destroy our shared home and our fellow beings
life has value beyond measure

Okay. They paid their fines and still came out way ahead from a financial standpoint. But why are they still in business? Why do they still have customers? Why hasn't the business world and society shunned them and their tactics? It's time that the "teflon" was stripped from these criminals, and a good place to start might be with Dubya, Cheney and Rove...

"Ripping off the public to the tune of billions and trillions of dollars does not make you an irreplaceable master of the universe; it makes you someone who should be in jail."

Only in America? No, I suspect it is much the same everywhere. Steal $40 from a store and go to jail. Steal $40 billion dollars and get bailed out and set loose to do it again. These are "values"? Seriously, the republican party bills itself as the party of "values" with all its "value added" institutionalized bigotry with nice names like the Family Council and others that are also the exact opposite of what they call themselves. Watch what they DO, not what they say. The modern republican party and the 1%er's along with the uber-religious are masters of the old shell game, and there is STILL no pea under any of the shells. Which is what these people really are. Empty shells.

This problem isn't just systemic, apparently it IS the system. I so want these jerks to end up in prison!

Here's Naomi Wolf's article, which this article discusses:

This Global Financial Fraud and Its Gatekeepers - Naomi Wolf

It all goes back to the same old story.
