His overseas debut was undermined almost from the very moment he arrived in London, the first stop of his seven-day tour, when he admitted he found the city's Olympic preparations "disconcerting."

Quite honestly, I don't see Romney having a chance at the presidency. And, if friendship with Netanyahu is what he considers his trump card, then I think he should rethink this strategy.

A new speechwriter, stand in for public appearances, surrogate public image - even those would not fix his problems. Sure looks like an election without a choice.

This is auction's season. Almost every US runner for both congress and the white house is ready to sell USA interests and his local community against a seat in the US congress or the oval office in the white house. Both main Presidency runners are keen to show to what extend they have fallen in love with the Zionist entity named Israel and the victim is the regular American.
Isn't this funny?

Obama to give Israel $70 Million for Iron Dome rocket defense system Featured
Written by CNI
Ynet - Obama announced the new military assistance as he signed a bill in the Oval Office expanding military and civilian cooperation with Israel.
"As many of you know, I have made it a top priority for my administration to deepen cooperation with Israel across the whole spectrum of security issues, intelligence, military, technology," Obama said during the signing ceremony.
"And in many ways, what this legislation does is bring together all the outstanding cooperation that we have seen really at an unprecedented level between our two countries to underscore our unshakable commitment to Israel's security," the US leader stated.
Obama said he was "very pleased that this week we are going to be able to announce $70 million in additional spending…For Iron Dome. This is a program that has been critical in terms of providing security and safety for Israeli families. It is a program that has been tested and has prevented missile strikes inside of Israel. And it is testimony to the leadership of the folks sitting here that we're going to be able to lock in that funding to assure that that program continues and that we are standing by our friends in Israel when it comes to these kinds of attacks.
"Let me just close by saying that the tragic events that we saw in Bulgaria emphasize the degree to which this continues to be a challenge not just for Israel but for the entire world - preventing terrorist attacks making and sure that the people of Israel are not targeted. And I hope that as I sign this bill, once again everybody understands how committed all of us are, Republicans and Democrats, as Americans, to our friends and making sure that Israel is safe and secure," he said.
Jewish members of Congress Howard Berman and Barbara Boxer, who initiated the legislation, were on hand for the signing ceremony.
The White House focus on Israel this week comes as Romney prepares to visit Jerusalem. The presumptive GOP nominee is a critic of Obama's policy toward Israel and has promised to ramp up US aid to the Jewish state, although Obama officials say the administration already provides record levels of funding.
A Romney spokeswoman said the former Massachusetts governor was happy to see steps being taken to enhance security cooperation with Israel.

Chickenhawk Mitt isn't even the official GOP candidate yet, and is already beating the jungle drums for war with Iran. Meanwhile Americans are struggling to make ends meet. The last thing we need is another expensive war. Romney and his neocon advisers are dangerous. Let's make sure he is NOT elected this November! Obama/Biden 2012

Is anyone else puzzled that Rmoney should find " the city's Olympic preparations "disconcerting."- WHAT??!! Did he expect everyone to down tools and all pay attention to him? What on earth can he have found disconcerting - he knew they were preparing for an enormous event of world stature... What a weirdo!

As for the rest of the article - that wasn't puzzling but was very, very worrying.

Hello Anne P.
You wrote " Mitt isn't even the official GOP candidate yet, and is already beating the jungle drums for war with Iran " You are right but you apparently forgot that he is in Israel to get the blessings of the Zionist Patriarch Benjamin Netanyahu .

From the article --- He faces pressure to explain his Middle East policy while at the same time abiding by his rule of not criticizing the president while overseas—a dilemma that could be tricky for the GOP candidate as he seeks to distinguish himself against Obama here.

Well here's one way he is NOT criticising the president (Not!) while still letting everyone know some of his foreign policy: In Israel, Romney declares Jerusalem to be capital, takes aggressive stance against Iran.

From the Associated Press story: ArticleID=news/capfeed/world/19566768.xml&CatID=World

U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney spoke aggressively Sunday about protecting Israel from Iranian nuclear threats and suggested that he was open to breaking with U.S. policy dating to 1967 by moving the United States embassy to Jerusalem if the Israelis asked.

My o my, what a tangled web he spins! Romney is already on record for wanting to bomb Iran. And now this which is guaranteed to up the ante. Previous US governments (Baby Bush) wanted to destabilise the entire region to put it under US influence. Can you say WWIII? I sure hope this isn't so.

I am just terrified that this idiot is saying it is OK to bomb Iran! What a complete fool he is. We do not need any more lives lost, bloodshed, and destruction in the middle east. It is time to reign in those who advocate this kind of thinking! Thank you President Obama for being the voice of reason here. Well, almost. STOP GIVING THE ISRAELIS MILLIONS OF $$$$ for WEAPONS!!!

"Mitt the Twit," declared The Sun tabloid, condemning Romney as a "wannabe president."
The Independent headlined its take on Romney's trip "Romneyshambles"
=========================
Mitt {or his advisers} did a smart thing in CLOSING his fundraising dinner, to the press.
With any luck, he'll get thru his stay in Israel without any nosy reporter getting NEAR enough to him to ask,
"And by the way, is it true that you Mormons believe that the Native Americans descended from the 10 Lost Tribes of Israel???"
I was waiting for Willard to say something like: "Our two great countries share a Centuries-old History....". Which is as good a reason as any, why they probably closed the fund-raising dinner!

Wonder if he'll be so tactless as to tell "Polish jokes" when he gets to Poland......

Dear Abdessalm,
Yesterday in Jerusalem, Governor Mitt Romney made some statements that were not only wrong, but frankly, prejudiced and ignorant.

Romney declared that "cultural differences" were the reason the Palestinian economy is not doing as well as Israel's, without even acknowledging the Occupation. On top of that, he managed to get his facts completely wrong, claiming the Israeli GDP is twice that of the Occupied Palestinian Territories, when in fact it is actually about ten times as high.

Most people who even cursorily keep up with the news know that Israel largely controls not only the entry and exit of goods to and from the West Bank and Gaza, but the entry and exit of the Palestinian people as well. Israeli soldiers can arbitrarily block the access of farmers from their land, students from their studies, and patients from medical care. Israel can, and has, closed Palestinian universities for years at a time.

Israel won't allow even the most innocuous materials, like strawberries from Gaza, to be sold in the West Bank, which serves to prevent Gazan farmers from making a living. (2) At various times, it has not allowed steel, glass, or even pasta in to Gaza to allow it to re-build after the devastating war on Gaza in 2008-2009. And Israel allows private companies like Ahava to take take natural resources in the West Bank and sell them for a profit. (3)

It's this infrastructure of control that chokes not only economic growth, but anything approaching normal life.

Governor Romney’s willful lack of understanding of facts on the ground and what appear to be racist assumptions about Israelis and Palestinians do not represent us. Sign our letter calling on him to set the record straight and apologize. We'll deliver it to Romney's campaign headquarters at the end of the week.

Romney stakes his value as a leader on his success in business. But any businessperson should know that blocking free trade and commerce, profiting from exploiting stolen land, and holding an entire economy hostage is not exactly fair play.

Please help us send a message to Mitt Romney that this kind of ignorance and racism is unacceptable. JVP members in Boston will be delivering your signature personally to Romney Headquarters before the end of this week. Spread the word so to your friends and communities—we want enough signatures by the end of this week to make it clear that his statements are not a reflection of the values Jews, Americans, and our allies hold.

To Governor Mitt Romney,

Your statements in Jerusalem regarding the growth of the Palestinian and Israeli economies were inaccurate and misleading. Israel's Occupation of Palestinian land makes it impossible for the Palestinian economy to succeed, not "cultural differences." Your comments were not a reflection of the values Jews, Americans, and our allies hold dear. We call on you to apologize to the Palestinian people for your willful lack of understanding of the facts on the ground and the racist assumptions behind them.
