They sure are adorable! Let's hope they receive the protection they deserve! Shouldn't our great-grandchildren be able to enjoy them, too?

Oh, the Pileated Gibbon and the Axolotl!
I well remember the first Axolotl that I ever saw. It was in my pre-med year at Melbourne University in the zoology class. I was dumb struck. It was monstrous, but also beautiful. Every time I walked past it I would look at it with fascination. Could anything look like that? Axolotls should never go extinct.
Gibbons will always remind me of an encounter I had with a Gibbon in the zoo. I was taking my grandsons to the zoo and we came to the Gibbon enclosure, which was big and had plenty of rope and trees for them to swing in. A blonde, female Gibbon spotted me among a lot of other people at the window looking in. She immediately swung over to me and was attempting to touch me and kept on kissing the other side of the glass window whilst obviously looking at me with a pleading expression on her face.
Probably I looked like a keeper from her past that she had liked, I thought. But it still affected me. It would be sad for them to become extinct.
All ten animals are so lovely and deserve to remain with us. What a sad, poor world it would be without them!

Why do humans ruin everything? What a useless species! With the way we live, so many of us live outside any food web, which truly makes us useless to the planet.

We humans are the most selfish animals on the planet. We kill for fun, profit and power, we kill endangered species for so called research, for Asian traditional medicines and delicacies, rich hunters pay to kill rare animals and poor countries look at the $. No wonder Africa is becoming a wasteland and making themselves even poorer. Chinese are one of the most destructive animals in the world at the moment, because they have the money. But every human being on the planet is guilty one way or another for the demise of our ecosystem, some a lot more than others. One day the planet after a total ecosystem collapse will start from the beginning, starting with micro oganisms and insects and no 'humans'.
