Romney likens hurricane relief to cleaning up "rubbish and paper products" from a football field. Is he joking?

Excellent article Carrie, thanks. Mittens lives in his own little psychotic world where everything exists to serve him - so if he wants to believe the devastation of Hurricane Sandy upon millions of people is like him clearing up a bit of paper on a soccer field, well, no doubt to him it is. Not however to any normal human being!!! What a Sierra Hotel India Tango!!! Please God he gets his comeuppance in a few days! Sorry I couldn't send you another star yet Carrie - you deserve it.

From the posts I have read on different sites.....Romney can't blow-it on anything short of committing murder and then they'll say its a liberal-lie. The leading GOP members didn't like Romney at all but now are his biggest supporters.
Romnesia works.

This is an OPINION article by one woman. It hardly resonates any attention. Carrie loves one opinion articles and unfortunately takes them to the bank as the "tell all end all" of conversation.

Mitt Romney is a leader. Obama is not a leader. Obama stepped out and said he was going to remove all the red tape.....the words of a 10 year old. He can't remove the red tape. For Obama, Sandy was a photo op and nothing more. Obama isn't concerned about Hurricane Sandy and the victims in her wake...he is interested in one thing....re-election. He'll prostitute himself any way he can to sound presidential but it won't work. At the end of the day, he's a lackluster, incompetent president who is going down in a few days.

Watch the polls. Watch the swing states. The American people, across this country, will decide who will win on Tuesday. Obama failed. You elected a man with no background and no experience. Today he doesn't even have a law degree. Even Bill Clinton kept his law degree until he was impeached because he lied under oath. There's another fine democratic President for you....lying under oath to save his own butt for having sex with a young page in the Oval Office. Can't make this stuff up. It's in the history books. Obama will have his chapter in the history books as well.

Diane ----SOME KIND OF LEADER --- Romney directed Damon Clinical Laboratories during the time when it racked up $35,000,000 in CRIMINAL FINES for MEDICARE FRAUD, plus subsequently had to make $87,000,000 in restitution for fraudulent billing. Besides using the Death-Squad's Salvadorian $$$ to fund BAIN--he /is not a "venture capitalist"; rather, Romney was/is a "leveraged buyout specialist" ........... Mitt made his money by cannabilizing a weak corporation with a weak Board, and then walking away and leaving the bankruptcy costs to be born by our society, by leaving the busted pensions to be backed up by you and me ............ by leaving all those destroyed senior citizens lives to you and me to pick up the pieces.
Romney As Governor economic performance was “one of the worst in the country” on “all key labor market measures.”3 In his four years in the statehouse, Massachusetts
fell from 36th to 47th out of 50 states in job creation. While the rest of the nation saw more than five percent growth in job growth, Well DIane will vote for the biggest con-job done on this country ...maybe it's the biggest one ever. !! No use in writing to her--folks --she drank the koolaid poison.

LOL Diane O...to not warrent attention it sure got yours ! :-)

When I think of Lyin' Ryan ...and their economic plan of destructive proportions..and Mitts Mormon Priesthood status and Mormon prophacy beleifs..I think this certainly hasn't helped on top of all the other negatives about him.

As far as the swing states go..well they are currently going to Obama .....It will take all the rig'd machines in Romneys favor along with all the months of voter supression to get Romney even close to coming in second in the election...or that the projection of my own conducted poll in our area of Ca...which is a Republican one usually..but Mitt..well the things I've mentioned have turned many off to even bothering to vote.WHich is... Really Cool me thinketh !!

Too bad opinions are worthy of reading huh people...Guess all those on this thread fall into that catagory...even that of teabagger Klan members...and that of Diane O..also :-) . Weird that Diane would comment againt her own words as being unworthy opinion..but then the rightwingers are know to do that as well as vote against their own good so what else is to be expected from ...a rightwinger in panic mode !?

Diane O. (149)
Saturday November 3, 2012, 3:23 pm
Jae, as usual, your comments don't make any sense. I am here on Care 2 as a very concerned American. I didn't believe Barack Obama should've been elected in 2008 and after four failed years of no leaderhship qualities I have to say that I was right.

No panic mode. Confident. Romney will win Tuesday. The majority of American people will make it so. Checked out the swing states? Perhaps you should.

Jae A. (323)
Saturday November 3, 2012, 3:26 pm
Kind of appears that the majority of commenters on this thread prefer the opinion of the article over that of Diane O....is that what upsets you Diane or just the fact that you are supporting a two bit two time loser and his Mormon Priest Master Mitt ? No need to reply to that Diane...unless ye wants to of course.

I would like to hear what you 'opinion' is... to the facts....not just opinion.... that Janice b. has pointed out above...

Diane O. (149)
Saturday November 3, 2012, 3:28 pm
Nothing upsets me, Jae. I am a realist. I understand people. I also try very hard to understand why people are who they are. This article is an opinion article. You are HERE posting your personal opinion. I am posting my personal opinion.

Most of the time you don't make sense. That, too, is my personal opinion.

Jae A. (323)
Saturday November 3, 2012, 4:55 pm
I think you are on here as a rightwing talking puppet ...I think you are not a realist...but a Teabagger Klan supporter of lies and B.S. I don't think you understand people, so I wouldn't flatter yourself any farther on that lol statement... much less the B.S. you yourself comment on as sounding remotely factually to many ,if not the majority actually on here...Everything you post in my opinion sounds like it's taken from a Karl Rove playbooks for morons..Those are things I think about you..your opinions.... and that of you opinion as to your comments in my direction.
I also don't get upset. I am also happy that you don't as that means you'll be fine when Obama wins this election..even with the use of rig'd voting machines in Mitt favor...the rightwings voter supression effects etc...and maybe when he does win you'll find another site to take your unrealistic opinions,in my opinion, to one that is more of your choirs taste/opinion so to say...they'll be fine with your whining about Mitts loss as they'll be doing the same.

Millions of us..the majority of people in the nation actually, didn't want Dubya as our President but due to the cheating and other underhanded tactics/practices of the GOP they put the election into the hands of their Republican Supreme Court Justices and got him 'appointed...which was the only way for that loser to be president in the 2000 and 2008 elections. Thus I find you're coming on here all whining about who you wanted to win in the last one and how you felt after four years of A Balck president being in the WHite House...it's nothing compared as to how the majority of the nation, the world, felt while going through eight years of Republcian spending/borrowing...wars...death and destruction that left of nation in economic crisis. ..and upset the economic balance world wide....but in reality...you are free to have your opinion..but others of us also have that freedom and it appears that yours is of a minority one on care2...which stands to reason as this is a Progressive Site, founded by a Progressive for progressive, but all are welcome :-)..Just don't expect you rightwing opinions to go without challenge and or even ridicule...which many of them in my opinion rightfully deserve.

...I jusssssssss love these little chats with Teabagger Klan types/supporters...and or rightwing hate/fear/war mongering/liars and in general B.S. spreading commenters on the care2 threads. 'I think' they are living poof of what hate/greed/insanitea and over all cluelessness are....Yep..and this comment is just my opinion...but it's beats the heck out of Diane O's me thinketh :-)..............

Maybe Mitt can rescue some of the Sandy victims by tying them to the top of his campaign bus and taking them to Ohio so they can vote there. Just a thought.

Jae A. (323)
Saturday November 3, 2012, 5:05 pm
...and just for fun ...one more time...how about a reply to the thoughts Janice B provide for you Diane O..about you Mormon Preist Guy , Mitt Romney....or was you opinion of my making sense of my post all you were interesting in making sense about in your opinion...[deep breath..and go..] ...or some kind of sense at least as to...a reply about those things...being you are soooo concerned and all and wanting to make more sense than you actually have in my opinion .

I am really glad you cleared up the opinion thing for everyone who wasn't aware what one is or that most comments are just that....Don't know how the thread would have lasted had you not done so. It did prompt me to post more opinions of mine...

Ok...if no reply from Diane O as to the points Janice pointed out about Mitt...soon..perhaps we can all just stand an take a break and .........dance now !

Jae A. (323)
Saturday November 3, 2012, 5:12 pm
Only one problem with that great suggestion Clarence M....that bus is one going to nowhere...not Ohio. It was designed by the same party that brought $arah Palin to the political forefront before she was snapped back into the reality that she cost the Republicans any chance of winning in their choice to run her...but she still got on that bus to nowhere there for a few weeks didn't she. So we'll just keep that liitle bit of factual info to ourselves and not tell Mitt where that bus actually ends up ...in Alaska somewhere... frozen in time...that of yester-years-long-ago....just like Mitt's political polices and ideas for America are. .

For someone who says she doesn't take my "one opinion" articles seriously, Diane certainly spends a great deal of time commenting on them. By the way, Joan Walsh is a well respected writer and editor.

Anyone who thinks, in their opinion, that Mitt is even a human being is probably wrong, in my opinion. John McCain had a choice between Sarah Palin and Mitt as running mate in 2008 and chose Sarah......his opinion was that Sarah was a better choice, in my opinion. But, seriously, Sarah....?!! Yep, in my opinion, and McCain's and the voting public with any sense of reality, Mitt is not fit to be a Vice President, and certainly and definitely NOT president.
Obama is going to win this election by a large margin, perhaps a landslide. I have been canvassing here in Iowa, and I will assure you, its in the bag for Obama. That's not just my opinion, its how it is.

You cannot currently send a star to Camilla because you have done so within the last week.
You cannot currently send a star to Jerry because you have done so within the last week.

A quote I ran into earlier may feel appropo to some on this thread:

"Idiot wind - blowing every time you move your mouth,
Blowing down the backroads, heading south,
Idiot wind - blowing every time you move your teeth,
You're an idiot, babe;
It's a wonder that you still know how to breathe."

- Bob Dylan, "Idiot Wind" (1974)

That is very true Camila, but the rightwingers rather we all forget about that.

Seeing that Diane O directed personal comments in my direction I have this to say to Diane O...
I am surprised that you haven't called myself or anyone else an Idiot on this thread...at least not so far as I've noticed..but it's early on in the thread so who knows about later huh. You feeling Ok. Diane O..just doesn't seem like you,to me, unless you do.......I mean that's what a normal response for someone...like you in my opinion.., that is so pretentious.. does... when it comes to those who don't believe a word of the B.S. isn't it ?

Actually this is an article by Joan Walsh and it's well researched, Joan Walsh doesn't just write opinions. Though most certainly every word by Diane is an opinion based on nothing more scrabbled bits and pieces of extreme right wing blogs.

When people go from one article to the next posting the same old stuff - we call them trolls. Trolling for attention? Seems to be the case. Bored with all of this now.
Good night Jae. - Thanks for the article Carrie.

"It was supposed to be a parable of how Republicans handle disaster – with private charity, not government intervention – as Romney told his audience, “It’s part of the American spirit, the American way, to give to people in need.” "

It might be part of the American way to give to people in need, BUT when the need is so overwhelming, when so many people are themselves strapped because of unemployment and underemployment, it is the time for government intervention, government assistance. Besides, government that is on track, has better resources and economies of scale to work with.

As things were unfolding earlier this week, I was thinking of some of the responses from various politicians and the media. And I was annoyed with some of the responses politicising the situation. But having read the article, I have amended my position. As Joan Walsh writes,

"When the performance of government suddenly becomes a literal matter of life and death to many Americans, we ought to be thinking about what kind of government we want to have, and that involves politics."

And I agree with her. Mr Obama responded by doing his job. Chris Christie responded by doing his job. And what are their jobs --- enabling first responders, marshalling resources, clearing the way for others to do what they do best. However, Romney responded how? . . . by turning a political rally into a non political rally and "raising" food etc donations for the Red Cross which they did not want because they don't have the resources to deal with the sorting, transportation and distribtion. And of course there was Romney's obligatory photo-op! Some might say that Mr Obama and Chris Christie also had a photo-op, but they were also reassuring people and updating people as to the state of the emergency. Quite different! And I am still annoyed with some of the responses politicising Sandy. The self-centred, self agrandissement responses of Romney and other mainly Republican/Teabagger politicians are enough to make me physically ill.

Thoughts and prayers still flowing for those affected by Sandy in the US and Canada.

At least Obama and Christie were working to set solutions in place. Mitt went grocery shopping and had Ryan re-washing clean pots.

Mittens looked just plain and simply confused after the hurricaine, hell why not blame Obama he has used that option on numerous occasions. Still, Obama has managed to use it on so many occasions. Well I see the trolls are out here again, still I thought the Kraken was a Gingrich supporter, with his repeated adultery with younger women, while each successive wife was seriously ill. Attacking mortgage lender Freddie Mac, while secretly getting paid $1.6 million as a lobbyist for them. A half-million charge account at Tiffany's Jewelers for his latest, youngest woman. Attacking Congress for gridlock, when he personally led the destruction of Congress' civility and traditions in the 1980s as a "bomb-thrower" and evil genius tactician. Hell he actually makes Mittens look good even though he is the most intellectually dishonest human being in the history of politics.

Most conservatives blame the victims of Sandy for not being able to take care of themselves. It's about as hateful as it can be so I don't think the care if Romeny doesn't care about anyone except the wealthy.

Diane O. (149)
Sunday November 4, 2012, 4:38 am
What an absolutely absurd comment based on no facts. Conservatives don't blame the victims of Sandy for not being able to take care of themselves. Are you serious?

Another Obama desperation comment. Does Obama care? How do you know? He hasn't stopped campaigning and took limited time from campaigning to have a few photo ops in New Jersey! Obama isn't a leader....he "reacts" like he is a leader but he has no follow up. Obama has no shame and right now he isn't helping anyone but himself. How do we know? Watch him campaign. He's not in the White House taking care of business. He isn't involved in the investigation of Benghazi.

Time to get this clown out of Washington and send him back to Chicago where he belongs.

Carrie B. (304)
Sunday November 4, 2012, 6:56 am
Diane, your desperation is showing. I am supposing you also approve of all of Romney's lies, which have been pointed out and proven on multiple news organizations. I guess your bigotry and racism override all.

Lois Jordan (55)
Sunday November 4, 2012, 1:03 pm
Yes, Carrie, their "bigotry and racism override all." But, we must remember that they are not the majority. They are small pockets of hypocritical, self-serving, greedy, uneducated, overbearing haters. Media like FuxNoise and Limpbag have served them well, as the lies are repeated constantly. But, they are still a small group magnified by media. The more they're publicized, the more people think their views are credible. This election will prove them wrong, and their crazy, hollow words must disappear in the majority of the media after this election. They know they're going down. What's Diane O. doing here on Sunday anyway....shouldn't she be in church?

Carrie, I'm not convinced that Mitt has lied anymore than I can convince you that Obama has a wagon load of lies he has told over the past four years.

Typical liberal response is that I am a racist because I have never supported Barack Obama. Some of us had a truck load of common sense in 2008...47% of us, in fact, so does that mean that all republicans are racist? Of course not...that's not even close to being logical. Your comments are borderline childish in my opinion, because you are "too far into" Obama even though he has failed the American people.

Ladies, both Carrie and Lois, we are on different sides of the aisle in what we believe is the right path for our country. This is why we have a two party system. What resonates here on C2NN and is the one constant is that the liberals are always reduced to personal attacks against those of us who simply aren't buying what you are selling.

The majority of Americans (over 70%) a year ago were polled and they said the country is going in the wrong direction. Imagine that....both democrats and republicans think the country is going in the wrong direction. Does that mean those of us who believe that to be true are all racists? See how silly both of you are. The race card is all you have. You can't defend four failed years of Obama's economy and his not one but two credit downgrades the first in American history. There's nothing you can defend. Obama was never qualified to run a small company much less the country. You folks didn't do your due diligence and vet Obama. Granted, you had no background to check because he wiped the internet clean of all information that would make him look bad and yet you backed him. You should ask yourselves why you voted for Obama in the first place. Was it because he was black? That would be a form of racism.

In "Dreams From My Father" which none of you have read, Obama writes about his "white mother and how he backed away from her because they weren't "alike." The racist comments made by Obama total over 30 and I mean they were hard core racist comments....yes, from your President. So, it you are on the hunt for racists start with Obama and then look at Rev. Wright and his racist church, a church Obama sat in for 20 years. It will be a perfect lesson for both of you in reverse racism.

Just because you provide information from the left wing biased media doesn't mean that people are going to believe it. I have my own sources and I post here regularly what I believe is the best path for our country.

Romney will win on Tuesday night. Obama has provided the "perfect storm" for a republican president to step in.

JL A. (275)
Sunday November 4, 2012, 7:11 pm
I guess some people are future tense mind readers and believe Romney is too when CEOs at car companies have to issue statements because what he said isn't true now or in their plans yet...so his defense is that he knows now what they are going to decide at some unknown point in the future and thus he hasn't lied yet until the companies no longer exist and it never happened...that seems to be the standard for determining truth vs. lies some want for their personal choice (but for no one else).

JL A. (275)
Sunday November 4, 2012, 7:13 pm
Racism is defined as believe a race is superior in some respect (ones own or another's). Most historians agree that US blacks as a group have had superior experience when it comes to suffering. So many people confuse their own bigotry with appropriate racism.

Diane, please provide one legitimate source that is NOT a biased, unreliable right wing blog for one assertion you make---there are respected unbiased, nonpartisan sources that have been sifting through assertions from both parties.
