I saw this in a video in the past week, I am not amused. This poor little dog is the product of people tinkering with the natural selection of genes, DNA traits passed on from generation to the next for health and well being of the animal. Not just so some can have a pup that fits in their purse.

It's so sad that people do this kind of thing. Tiny horses, and these tiny dogs do not have much of a chance for a normal or long life.

I agree with you Carrie and Kit. I do not believe in fooling around with nature in animals of any kind. We have already mixed floras and faunas and there it should stop, in my opinion.

Thanks for the insight Kit B - kind of puts this in its proper perspective.

breeding dogs this small endangers them in my opinion, can you imagine if someone accidently stepped on them,it also isnt healthy for the dog as it puts too much stress on their small bones etc-we almost adopted a very small dog once, but i decided that it would be to easy to accidently step on the dog.

Bloody shocking in fact - it is not normal, but then neither are most humans!

This is not normal and can cause a lot of suffering to those doggies. They can carry their own breed problems plus those added by genetical manipulation to achieve such tiny sizes. From bones , breathing and biological incapabilities/deffects. All for money... and people keep getting them which equals to buy economical and emotional problems.Sad.

We'll just hope that she never runs into any St. Bernard sperm. It might be a lethal encouter.

Dogs actually are the species with the greatest genetic diversity- esepcially of size.
