Canadians eat it for breakfast; Haitians call it mamba and buy it, freshly pulverized, from street vendors; it is popular in the Netherlands, where it is known as pindakaas, or peanut cheese. Nevertheless, it remains an "all-American food."

Thanks Carrie for the link to the very interesting and informative article by Jon Michaud. Peanut butter any time, anywhere, and on anything! Read and noted.

I've never really been a fan of peanut butter (gasp! I know I'm one of the few people on Earth that feel that way) but this was an interesting article. Thank you Carrie!

Peanut butter was a staple when I was growing up. Nobody seemed to be allergic. As an adult I switched to the non-hydrogenated kinds that are all peanuts with no sugar added. I prefer the taste. Thanks Carrie. I like it on an apple too or I slice the apple, or sometimes strawberried, put on bread and make a sandwich with peanut butter

Where would we be without the staple food of all field biologists!

Well Robert O., not everyone has to like peanut butter, though many of us do.

I LOVE peanut butter - on whole wheat saltines, on celery, on baby carrots, on a spoon right out of the jar! We grew up on peanut butter and cereal! HA! I much prefer Jif Creamy and buy the HUGE jar!

I could not even imagine my breakfast not being a one slice, whole wheat peanut butter sandwich. In addition, I could never eat a banana without my Jif.
