Yes, it's been pretty bad. So many animals have died - mostly sheep & cattle in their thousands and wildlife from kangaroos to possums to wombats. But many wild animals have died from the heat with no fire such as baby possums and flying foxes. Very sad.

I saw this news item on yesterday and wondered why no one was mentioning on Care2. We have lots of members living there and should be concerned for them. Thanks Carrie, for posting

As Phil has said it will not only be humans that are suffering, although God knows it must be awful for them, temperatures of 45c+ are unbearable. I experienced them halfway down the Nile heading toward Sudan; I had shelter and a swimming pool for respite - wild animals would have neither.

Fire 154kms from me, but still it's always frightening. So sorry for the people who have been injured and/or lost their homes. Not to mention the poor animals who have perished. Still a lot of summer to go too.

It's been so hot they actually had to adjust the temperature grid.
BTW what is with all the people making claims about this or that relative working from home making big bucks? I thought this was a site for serious petitions and activism? Anyone who has investigated these will know that most of these are based on pyramid schemes and have hidden fees that require you to sign up so many people and to generate so much per month before you see any real money; if you can call it that. The claims are inflated to impress the gullible. BTW Google isn't behind the so called Google Work at Home thing either. That's a scam. Let the buyer and the reader beware and the old adage of it's too good to be true apply.

It is very sad. Our country's ablaze at present. Scary. We need to be mindful of our animal friends too. :(

This is so terribly sad for the people and also the wild animals, of which not too much has been said. Appreciate Phil H.'s input about the animals, both domestic and wild - Please stay safe Phil.
Kudos to the people fighting the fires in such extreme heat! I really am amazed that so far only one fireman has been injured and pray that it stays that way.
Thanks you Carrie.

It is really bad.I have never know it like this.In summer we always have bushfires and high temperatures but it has never been to this extent. It is horrible.
So many animal wildlife and domestic are being killed and injured. They are predicting tomorrow and Sunday to be even worse.
What gets me is that some of these out of control fires are being deliberately lit.

I is the animals feel for. The fear and terrifying conditions that they have to bear without understanding what is happening. We need rain badly as Queensland's temperatures will be in the hign 30s or 40s again tomorrow.I am truly sorry for all those who have lost their homes and lively hoods.
