Thanks Carrie for the link to the article and the video segment. Senator Graham, as the article states is completely wrong in his assertions regarding Mr Hagel. Future Secretary of Defense Hagel is not the one outside the mainstream, it is Sen Graham. Read, viewed and noted.

I'd love to see L.Graham... this "excuse for a human" ...not be re-elected! He's scum! He's pissed at Obama and taking it out on everyone else. Hagel WILL BE a fantastic Sec of Defense!

Unfortunately, Lindsey Graham won't read any of these comments and see how people feel about him. Instead, he will continue to take corporate money, and spout his racist positions against anything that the president does. He hates black people, it's as simple as that.

Graham is doing nothing more that spewing GOP propaganda. He used to be one of Hagel's biggest fans!

Sen. Graham is a really arrogant and insuffrable picece of work that I put in the same category as AZ Se. John McCain, part of the old guard that is way out of touch and needs to go. Thanks Carrie.

Luckily Graham's opinion is way out of the mainstream. Hagel confirmation process may get rocky, but if Obama wants him on his team he should get him, period. As for Israel, that "blank check" needs to reigned in anyway.

Lindsey Graham needs to turn in his badge and go home. After attempting to twart every single thing Pres Obama puts out there only those seriously lacking even the remotest level of intelligence believe him any longer. How is it that he keeps getting voted back in? Voter fraud or just plain ignorance?

Out of the mainstream? Wow.

In 1971, Hagel was hired as a staffer for Congressman John Y. McCollister (R-NE), serving until 1977. For the next four years, he worked as a lobbyist for Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, and, in 1980, he served as an organizer for the successful presidential campaign of former California Governor Ronald Reagan.

After Reagan's inauguration as President, Hagel was named deputy administrator of the Veterans Administration. In 1982, however, he resigned his post over a disagreement with VA Administrator Robert P. Nimmo, who was intent on cutting funding for VA programs. Nimmo had referred to veterans groups as "greedy", and to Agent Orange as not much worse than a "little teenage acne".

When Graham says "out of the mainstream", he means "not completely crazy". Graham is dangerously deluded.

In a perfect world all runs smoothly ... this definitely is not!

Glad there is still a voice for counter-balance, after which you live with your choices, you own them, no whining/blaming.

I do not know enough about Lindsey or Hagel to comment. Have to do some homework first, but thanks for posting Carrie.

Graham is irrelevant. Hagel is the best of a bad choice, but at least he is tolerable. Graham isn't.
