Is Pope Francis the Catholic Princess Diana?

It was a shipwreck of African migrants off the coast of Lampedusa, a small island in the Mediterranean, that spurred Pope Francis into action. In the past 18 months more than 500 people have died, or gone missing at sea, trying to escape Africa.

Pope Francis is a caring soul and as much as I like Princess Diana, the two can never be compared.

I have not followed what kind of pope he is. But It sounds very encouraging. Thank you.

I'm not sure about a comparison to Princess Diana, but I do think the Cardinals made the right choice.

Pope Francis seems to be, and I hope he is, a man of high ideals.

I wonder how long he'll last. The money/power people who control the church aren't going to like his ideals.

Scripture says, "The whole world lieth in the lap of the wicked one."

He is certainly a man of the people and seems to be addressing humanitarian issues .

Well, he isn't John XXIII, but he appears to be the best thing since. I'm not sure where the "traditionalists" got the idea the Jesus ever card one flying f**k about dignity. Perhaps Perhaps they need remedial reading courses.

Francis is way above Benedict in so many ways. Glad that Benedict was booted out.

What Francis is doing behind the scenes remains private but he does appear to have an open public
image which is unusual.

To equate Francis with Diana is wrong. There is no comparison.
Diana was a different kind of person. Francis is another kind of person.
Both are doing what feels right within their own sensibilities. Diana did and Francis is doing.

Ty, Carrie.

I need to see more change within the Church period----just not good enough...I don't see the comparison to the late Princess. Thanks
