No matter how fantastic, how unreasonable, how seemingly unattainable, Dubai makes a business of satisfying your worldly desires. But good luck finding a local bunch of carrots.

Interesting that people with a long history of trade and street markets would be missing something so common place all over the world. Makes me wonder where they have been getting their produce. Many indigenous dishes are vegetarian. A puzzle! I see that Mejia calls the food before the market "crap" and expensive imports and the only the wealthy could afford fresh food. Why I wonder would that change so much with this market? I do understand about the local farmers, but they must spend a fortune in just keeping crops growing.

article says "But good luck finding a local bunch of carrots."

Carrots are said to be good for the eyes, good for the brain.....eat too many and they'll color you orange.

Unexpected, exceptional. I enjoyed reading this article.

As a curiosity, I would like to say that Dubai gave metro Phoenix the idea to have botanical gardens and mini sculpture museums at public transit stations and SEVEN art museums at the Phoenix airport......

This is a different kind of thinking.

day ago ... A young Norwegian woman has been sentenced to 16 months in jail after she reported a rape in Dubai. The 25-year-old was in the United Arab country.....yada yada yada.
(It's still a bad place for women)
