When Congress returns from vacation in a week and a half, the Senate will take up the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the bill that sets the Department of Defense (DoD) budget -- and defense-related budgets for other departments --

Ones who deny there is climate change are afraid it's going to cost them something. They rather drown in pollution than pay.

If this doesn't show that the deniers are nothing more than corporate puppets, I do not know what does!

From the article "Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy Tom Hicks wrote an op-ed rebuttal saying that the math didnít check out.

" We just donít live in a world where oil prices never go up, technology doesnít advance, and economies of scale donít bring down cost; in fact, history tells us that the exact opposite is true. Eight years ago, the cost of petroleum was just under $40 per barrel and the annual volatility was plus or minus 10 percent. Today, the price of petroleum has more than doubled and the annual volatility is more than 30 percent. It is impossible to accurately predict where prices will be eight years from now, but with ever-increasing global demand and continued political unrest in oil-producing countries, nearly all experts agree that oil prices will increase, and we have seen the price of biofuel drop."

Thanks Carrie - green star.

I find this funny, and can imagine a movie showing how this happened---see the Eternal Gardner's post.

Kudos to he military for doing what many don't, accepting climate change and our dependence on fossil fuels are truth. They're willing to change and, in my mind, that's a great big plus against all those negatives.
Thank you for this enlightening article - didn't realize how committed the military is.
