It is conventional wisdom that we're our own worst enemies and despite the cliche, the idea rings true. We often drive ourselves insane striving for perfection in our experiences, relationships and selves, and honestly it just becomes exhausting.

Well the cutest one is 'your life not looking like Pinterest'.Most women are very hard on themselves, but then look at all the responsibilities they take on. --- delegate, delegate for your own sanity.,
Thank Carrie.

Very good article. We have to learn to be just ourselves, and not listening to what we are supposed to be.

Except for the "saying sorry all the time" I might not be a woman according to this list ;)

Nr 24. Stop making these endless lists of what women should not be doing. What a terrible way to put down women even further.

Most of these were just common sense, and good advice for anyone really.

I am a product of "multitasking" and "supermom" from the 70s and 80s. We were told we could do it all, have it all, and still be sane...boy, did they lie. We were handed a bunch of bull and when we failed it felt like we were the only ones who Couldn't do it all. When I see young women trying to do all and be all I cringe at the sometimes humungous failures I faced - cliffs which I thought could never be gone around, let alone climbed.

Now that I'm older I can see where I bought into the crap and how we all were set up to fail. I made a promise to myself to never buy into that kind of thing ever again and can honestly say I'm less crazy than I was then - not as many roller coaster rides on my emotions - and find I actually like myself.
