The cult of the libertarian-minded ultra-weatlhy would make an intriguing anthropological case study. But it would be a case study with a twist: its research subjects increasingly control our economy, our politics, and even our personal lives.

Noted. I will do my best to avoid the corporations these people are "attached" to.

Funny how people (these are all man, by the way) only become libertarians after they made their millions by exploiting government and the common man. If you ask them what their most important quality is, they will - without a doubt - come up with genius or more than excellent entrepreneur. I, however would come up with anti-social or ego-maniac.

Great post, especially when you compare it with the one on homeless people.

People like these ding-a-lings are the reason why I no longer identify as a Libertarian. I supported the Libertarian party for years because it seemed like a good alternative to both Republicanazis and Commiecrats. Now I realize they might as well be shills of Big Business. Minimal government = minimal regulation = out-of-control capitalism euphemistically called laissez faire. That results in rock-bottom wages, little (if any) environmental protection, little (if any) regulation of food production facilities, etc. Read the companion article "25 Horrifying Images of the 'Free' Market at Work," which I just submitted to Care2 at

I was a member of the LP for 20 years (till 2008, when the banksters destroyed the economy through greed and selfishness). Stuff works really good on paper, but not so much in the real world.

Noted and thanks for sharing Carrie . Libetarians, instead of thanking the government and the taxpayers for their good fortune, they’ve allowed their own good press to go to their heads. And they’re biting the hand that feeds them, attempting to shut down the system of taxpayer support and government action which created their world. They must all be Republicans, as it seems they have no concience. they care about one thing only - money!
