Politicians are notorious for pushing witnesses to say things in hearings that will reinforce a certain conclusion. Somewhat less common is the lawmaker who completely ignores the testimony he elicits.

The exploitation of the deaths shows a nadir in the basic integrity of the GOP it just seems to be an increasingly depressing state of the body politic that such pathetic excuses of human beings are in office making laws whilst seeming to have no qualms using the tragedy for political capital. This is just another example of them following the teachings of St Ronnie, when he said "facts are stupid things".

I watch these republicans, desperate and in denial and I can NOT believe my ears!!!! The coup against democracy is alive and well within out government. They need a jury to make decisions, because they are treasonous at least.

Another case of a lawmaker hearing only what he wants to hear. That in itself is a rather stupid and egotistical mind set, but Rep. John Mica is so incredibly stupid and self-centred that he thinks that everyone else (his GOP-buddies) has also heard the same thing or wasn't paying attention (the rest of the world). So it must have come as a big surprise to our senator with the inflated ego, that not everyone went along with his version of what was testified. But I'm sure that this little trifle will not stop Mica from spreading his "truth" just the same.

I've been flagging also, but I think we might have to wait until care2 is back up to full staff on Monday.

the biggest thing that could have been prevented was the September 11th attack on the twin towers. Yet, because the president was a Republican, there was no talk of impeachment.
