Witnesses said the couple announced the shootings were the start of a revolution and draped the victims' bodies with American Revolution-era Gadsden flags -- bearing the slogan "Don't tread on me" -- that have become symbols of the Tea Party movement.

Well, duh! OF course they were right-wing gun nuts with a death wish...but shouldn't some of their "friends" have notified someone? Oh, yeah, I guess the NSA dropped the ball on these "Reich-wing Terrorists" because the NRA is Composed of these Types!

Conservative policy has created a world of poverty but it looks as if these people are simply psychotics who picked out any label to make their evil fit in a niche.

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. I agree they're mentally ill....or, WERE mentally ill. I think back to the days when women like Ma Barker and Bonnie (of Bonnie & Clyde) were violently involved in crime. I believe we're seeing more women doing things like this because of the economy.....akin to what it was during those days. Maybe someone else has another idea why women are now toting guns side-by-side with men and causing violence.....

well all I can ask is have you all also noticed all the wrongful deaths lately from COPS! Oh that's right - they are not on the "fluff nightly news"! I don't who these people were but they did make a statement- we are sick and tired of police abuse!

Wrongful deaths by cops are on the news a lot here in New Mexico. Bad over zealous cops, and armed mentally unstable, gun rights activists, ~ two wrongs don't make a right.

Another notch for home-bred right wing terrorism that the NSA hasn't picked up on. The article gives a whole list of both husband's and wife's activities on the internet, social media and even the local media and what has come of it: three people gunned down and a shoot-out with the cops and two suicides.

It hardly matters if they were insane, all the signs were there and they even put their plans on Facebook. So why weren't they apprehended before they executed the two cops?

Good questions, Jim and Lona. One issue is that the NSA (and other law enforcement) are so busy looking at the peaceful left that they can't be bothered to look at the violent right.

Compete nutters! Why did no-one pick up on the signs? BTW, it's Harlequin, not Harley Quinn!

Thanks, Carrie. I want to leave a link to an excellent Democracy Now! video report about the rise of these right wing militia groups, titled 'As Right Wing Shooting Rampages Grow,U.S. Revives Domestic Terror Unit Shelved After 9/11'. It includes an interview with Mark Potok from the Southern Poverty Law Center, the group founded by Morris Dees which tracks and prosecutes hate crimes across the U.S.

I'm against abuse by the police as much as any one. But this is BS. Two police officers eating lunch does NOT an act of abuse make.
