I hold people like Glenn Beck, Fox News, and Rush Limbaugh responsible for this. True, they didn't pull the triggers. They probably didn't want people to pull the trigger. But they pumped people like these full of paranoia every day, 24/7, and then act shocked when something like this happens? Not buying it.

Nevada's Republican Senator called that man a patriot.

I saw this elsewhere - on an Australian's website (and Australia has a VERY low rate of gun crime after they took action to restrict guns a few years ago) - apparently her Grandma had given her one of the books that set her off - apparently a family as loving, cuddly and moral as a group of rabid wolverines.

TC - that Nevada Senator sounds utterly appalling - and also stupid - he relies on the police force to keep him safe and he praises someone who murders officers in cold blood?!! Strewth!

It's a shame they managed to kill before they died but this is a gun culture.

People don't seem to understand the Bundy situation - main stream news again - I heard a live interview which was substantiated - the Bundy's have OWNED that land since the late 1880's - the BLM wanted to take it away - what ever happened to private property!!!!!!!! Yes people - get both sides of the story first - now this doesn't mean they had to kill the cops - but I am getting us pet with people who only are listening to the main stream fluff and lies. I am pro-gun - all the shootings are happening in gun-free zones - get the drift - I am AGAINST killing for the sake of killing - but if someone breaks into my home and has a gun - why should I say - oh take it all - I want to be able to defend myself!

Val R. none of Bundy's claims hold water. His father didn't own that ranch till the 1950's The land was Gov land before his ancestors even came to the land. All of his arguments are ridiculous he is an embarrassment to our country. Other ranchers don't mooch off of government land without paying their grazing fees. He needs to be locked up and sued out of the ranching business.

Noted. Guess I read the same articles that Jamie Clemons (above) read....that stated the land did belong to Native Americans originally; and the Bundy family bought it in the 50's. Bundy's actually taking money from us taxpayers by allowing his cows to graze on gov't land without paying a nickel.
The duo from the article are obviously mentally ill....you know, birds of a feather flock together. My own mom used to tell me when I was bored as a child that I should find something constructive to do. Apparently these two had some pretty different parents.....or they would have found something "constructive" rather than destructive.

Mental illness is a good excuse for the morally corrupt who are slowly taking over!

The land was stolen from the Native Americans by the Government, even the Indians people must pay grazing fees and do. If anyone has a complaint it should be the ones' it was stolen from. Start paying the grazing fees like everyone else. Where were your ancestors Bundy when the land was stolen?

As Benjamin Franklin so rightfully said,
'Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain, and most fools do.'

Lois Jordan: Problem is that it WASN'T Federal land until around 1993 when it was deemed a sanctuary for endangered Desert Turtles. Cliven Bundy (Jerk that he is.) HAD been paying land usage fees to Nevada and had no problem doing so. He got upset when the Feds came in and added another fee on top of the one he had already been paying to the State. The claim is that this added fee put about 30 cattle ranchers out of business. Considering the average rancher has over 100,000 head of cattle, their claim is that this is the REAL reason the price of beef is so high. Problem is that there is so much misinformation out there regarding the issue, who knows what the REAL story is! I certainly don't trust the government at this point!

And this is the reason that FOX stopped covering the story almost immediately when who they are where they had been and what they believed began to come out FOX just stopped covering the story.
Marc P. sorry BS called they want your rant back. First there are 16,000 ranchers that pay BLM grazing fees, only 459 own more than 2 Months in back fees of those not counting Bundy the reaming 458 owe a Grand Group total of $237,000 while Bundy owes 4.2X that amount at $1Million. The Bundy family began paying Nevada Fees in 1954, and then for some insane reason when it switched to the MUCH LOWER BLM FEE 20 years ago he stopped paying. If Bundy owed Nevada just for delinquent grazing fees his debt to Nevada would Be over $11.1 Million+, the Nevada fee per animal is $15-15.50 per month the BLM fee per animal is $1.35 per month. Fees for private land grazing range fro $30-50 per month and if you are going to feed them on your own land it will cost you on average $26 per month for a gain hay mix. Bundy is a fat greedy Reich-Wing loon it would cost him 19X more to buy the food than the BLM fees.

Lloyd H: Anyone considering my comment a "Rant." is a simpleton at best. I clearly stated "Problem is that there is so much misinformation out there regarding the issue, who knows what the REAL story is." If anyone has different informtion they can substantiate, I would love to be more informed on the subject. Even an idiot can tell you that the way to educate someone and get them to listen to you is NOT by insulting them. Someone obviously forgot to teach you that, or somewhere along the line you just decided to abandon common courtesy and good manners.
You do not state where you get your info. from. I would be interested in knowing that for my own research purposes. Also, I don't see why there should be ANY grazing fee on Federal land which we ALL own. The land is just sitting there unused. Just about every town in Connecticut where I am from have "Commons" which were originally intended for people who needed grazing space for their cattle. - At no charge. The word "Common" meaning that the land belongs to everyone.
