"...You can’t condone that, it’s inconsistent with the profession of Christ. So, you isolate them. You don’t have a meal with them. You separate yourself from them. You turn them over to Satan, as it were, as scripture says.”

Turn them over to this preacher then? Because his are the words of evil, I don't believe in devils, just humans who show their vast ignorance and bigotry out in the open as this fool. He forgets who Christ hung out with, who HE had meals with. This pastor and his like are the pharisees and hypocrites Christ railed against, the very same who turned Christ over to the Romans to be murdered. This man sound just like those of that day. That he dare associate himself with the only GOOD man ever to walk this planet is a disgrace. He and his stinking church can take a long walk off a short pier and do the world a favor. Just by shutting the hell up when all you have to spew is ignorant bigotry. There is a way to tell whether one should say something or not, three simple questions. Is it true? Is it kind? Does it contribute to the silence? Everything this fool said fails all three simple tests. I don't know who it was that said something like best to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open it and prove it. That fits here too. There seems to be no end to the number of ignorant, hate-filled men willing, as they have forever, to tell everyone else how to live. What a waste of space.

Statements like this make me think that this guy's family tree doesn't have many branches. Seriously, he has to be the result of inbreeding or maybe it's something in the water? Perhaps he is possessed by the Devil and damned to say stupid things until his miserable life is over?

If there are more than a couple hundred members at least a handful left the congregation. Some people know what is right and stand for it.

This is a case of "Garbage in, garbage out."
If you ask a jackass a question, you will get a jackass answer.
Thinking that this fool of a Pastor has "THE" answer, was the person's second problem.
His first was in not already knowing that the answer was "Love your child."

That's an alleged pastor and man of God? Not likely. One of Satan's minions is more like it since promoting intolerance, hatred and isolation of those that don't measure up to their doctrines is wrong and goes completely against Christianity and what religion should stand for. This guy is nothing more than a hate monger in a holy man's clothing.

A--holes like him are just one of numerous reasons why I am not a Christian - and will never, never be one. Martin Luther King, Jr. is by far and large an exception, and every day he seems farther and larger an exception. As Nietzsche put it, "In truth there was only one Christian, and he died on the cross."

what he really meant to say was " turn them over to Stan"...whoever Stan is? Stanley must be a nice fellow if parents are willing to send their kids to him.

This is about the most 'unChristian' comment I have ever heard.

This sad excuse for a human being, is dangerous, really dangerous,
whether he believes this garbage or is just trying to make a name for himself.
Well guess what, you succedded, but not in a positive manner, you JERK.
(Gee, and I hate name calling.)

I just looked Mr. MacArthur up on the internet.
He turned 75 this month and went to Bob Jones University.
He is a Calvinist Baptist and a cessationist, which means he believe all messages from the spirit world ended around 100 AD. (I had to look that one up.)
He believes the Bible should be THE sufficient tool for counseling people with mental illness, depression and anxiety.
He has been very critical of other Christian movements and preachers, including Billy Graham and the Catholic Church, which he refers to as the 'Kingdom of Satan', and the Pope is anti-Christ.

He apparently skipped Dale Carnegie's course on 'How to Win Friends and Influence People', except of course, for the LUNATIC FRINGE.

If you a have need to learn more about him, which I doubt, but could be wrong (again), you can find more information on Wikipedia.

Unfortunately he isn't the only bigot of this kind.I have relative who joined the Mormon Church and loved it she taught bible classes and looked after the children during the service. She was stunned when her 18yr old son told her he was gay and was in a relationship. When the her Bishop found out he removed her from participating in anything to do with children because her presence was harmful. He even sent members of the church who tried to persuade her to shun her son and informed her that he was to be excommunicated. She told them she was not prepared to shun her son because she loved him.Whereupon they told her she would also be excommunicated as well. She loved her church and had worked hard for it but it counted for nothing.

Well the power of Satan is increasing , if all sinners were forced away, who would be left. The back of the church for outcasts is getting very crowded.

It is disturbing and sad how much power, control and disruption churches and religion have on families. But it amazes me that anyone would be listening to fools like this and yet there are so many of them.

A FEW deluded parents will follow this "advice". They probably were LOUSY PARENTS before this, anyway. The kids are better off without them. Altho it's a tragedy they will be out on the street.

On the HAPPY side, however, this pastor and people like him, are ALIENATING many more parents and kids and families than they are convincing! They are just preaching to a hard-core choir...
People are LEAVING churches like that, in DROVES - as well as the Roman Catholic Church and the Mormons.

The money these guys make, is going down to the vanishing point -
and, even better, when people LEAVE these bigoted religions, nowadays they mostly don't "choose another religion", but become one of the "Nones" - people who mark "None of the above" when asked to state their religion in paperwork.
There are still areas of the country where these views prevail - but INROADS are being made even there!
[And California is LIBERAL...]
There are so many Atheists now, we're even thinking of forming our own "Churches"! [JOKE!]

This pastor sounds like a man desperate for attention. I wonder how quickly he would change his tune if one of his own children or grandchildren suddenly came out as gay. The unfortunate thing is that so many church-goers are deluded into believing that their pastor is the voice of God when he preaches. The truth is that most pastors are nothing more than politicians playing the game and telling their congregations what they think they want to hear.

I'm reminded of a story about a pastor who preached vehemently against gays. He was asked one day why he hated gays so much. He relied that he didn't. He really didn't care about them at all. But, he said, nothing brings a group of people together like giving them someone else to hate. -- Hitler couldn't have said it better.
