As far as I could tell Ms. Hewlett didn't take her own advice. She wasn't wearing well-cut jeans with a colourful top, had been very busy indeed with her appearance and was rambling a mile a minute. All her faux-pas were minor compared to her boo boo "And there are some particular hurdles for people of color.”

Noted. Thanks, Carrie. Do people actually watch this junk on Fux Noise? And, does any woman who watches really follow their advice? Also wondering if the men agree.....This would NOT fly in my house.....If Mom (me) isn't happy, no one is happy. lol

The whole war against women agenda is really getting to be bleeding obvious that Fox News can come out with this sort of pandering to the religious right, they might as well have their female news reader dressed in a Burka to hide their modesty and they should walk ten feet behind the men at all times. Is this really how women should be treated after 40 years of feminism? It is almost like there has just been a John Titor character will be appearing claiming to be from 2036 and he needs to get an IBM 5100 to restore the time lines.

Oh well - there's only one thing coming to my mind when I hear such "advice" from any rightwing religious nut wings - be they Jews, Christians, Muslims or anything else:

If HaShem/God/Allah would have wanted us women to be invisible ... he/she would have made us invisible!

Simple isn't it ... if one believes in this concept that is ...

How long till we women start mounting a campaign against how men dress/behave?

1. Beer belly sticking out = not acceptable.
2. Fat rings hanging over the belt = not acceptable.
3. Scruffy looks = not acceptable.
4. Not clean shaved or properly trimmed hair and beard = not acceptable.
5. Not properly trimmed finger and toe nails = not acceptable.
6. Shouting and yelling and bullying = not acceptable.
7. Burping and farting in public = not acceptable.

The list can be continued ... that's just what comes random to my mind ...

Don't you just love it?

The more conservative males open their mouths, the more obvious their attempt at controlling women, becomes.
Here's your ABORTION issue 'in spades'.
They want to control our bodies, our mouths, the tone of our speech and of course, our minds. They are egotistical enough to believe that it a possibility.

Actually, I feel sorry for females who are so brain-washed that they can't see the trees for the forest, or is it they don't want to.
Perhaps, they never grew up and still want a parent/child relationship with men.

That reminds me, if you yearn for some sense in all this relationship business, try asking your local bookstore to get you a copy of 'GAMES PEOPLE PLAY'. It has been around for quite a few years and, in fact, I ordered about 6 copies as gifts for my friends.
It is easy reading and I learned a great deal of information from it.

Women need to raise their voice and look how much better the world has become after a few strong ladies. Yes I know, they are SO easy to forget in the line of all the male who scream out their oppinions everywhere...

We need to start a new Women's movement! Our rights are being stripped away, and we keep hearing these nuts trying to bring back the 1940"s. I think I understand why very insecure men would love that idea, but I can't understand for the life of me is that there are some very stupid women playing along!

OMG! The only positive thing I can say about that interview is that the two men were much bigger fools than the two women. "That's a woman using her ASSets" stated CroMagnon man number two. Hewlett is obviously NOT of the younger generation, of any generation and that "advice" sounded more like Phyllis Schafly than serious scholarship. Women should not demonstrate they "know their stuff", they should signal it? In what way? Perhaps those flags they use on carrier decks? Hewlett may not know this but when people's voices rise in a meeting it isn't that they are stressed (or overly emotional women), it is because they are not being heard or they are talking over each other. What a load. And that is what passes for news on Fox. Is it any wonder why virtually no one but the frothing takes that bunch seriously?

I have to agree with Gene. There are a Lot of very foolish people on Fox News. Why people waste there time listening to them is beyond me.

Pretty disgusting. If only their darlings --- Palin, Bachmann, and Coulter --- would heed the advice to STOP talking! 3 examples of women who DON'T "know their stuff" but won't shut up anyway.

I was brought up during the 50's and 60's with a mind of my own and sure of my own abilities thanks to my Dad. He told me I was smart enough and talented enough to do ANYTHING I set my mind to and to never back down. My favorite grandmother said the same thing. I am glad I listened to them.

That can't even be classified as an interview. Sylvia Anne Hewlett writes an advice book for women and then comes on faux noise and does not follow what she preaches. Where is her well cut jeans and colorful top? While the lady in the middle of the 2 co-hosts pretends she has a smattering of intelligence. Anyone ever notice how all the faux noise gals wear short dresses and they always have a lady on the end of the table during their insane discussiosn? Yep, I do turn it on but only to see what pack of lies they are telling to their uninformed audience.
