Since Obama once again wasted time and dragged his feet, which resulted in small farms and ranches being screwed over yet again, we have to ne diligent in holding big ag responsible for every little thing they do..the screws can't begin to be tight enough on these guys!
Thanks Nancy

Noted, Signed & Shared! Big corporate agriculture is turning our beautiful land and water into a quagmire of pollution, contaminating our water and our air, and causing terrible suffering for animals and using farmers to take the liability while they reap all of the profits! This trend needs to be stopped now and we, the people, must take the leadership role in and becoming as intransigent about protecting our environment and stopping such animal cruelty on a massive scale as the politicians have become as intransigent in protecting these large industrialized polluters! We need to get these "paid for" politicians out of office and only vote for those who show by their words and actions that they are for true reform!

NOTED & SIGNED. My advice: educate yourself - go to the Farm Sanctuary website online and/or on Facebook. I have chosen vegan diet & lifestyle not only due to concerns for animal rights but in addition due to extreme worry about the environment. We must stop this senseless cruelty to animals and to our Mother Earth.

Allan y., for your edification, which it is obvious you desperately need, The US House was put under total Repug/Tea Bagged control in the 2010 election, and with Senate rules the Repug/Tea Bagged can stop any thing they choose to obstruct. As for the rest of you imbeciles you may not have gotten every f'ing thing on your wish list from Obama you need to pull your heads out of your butt and remember 2 things. First, ALL of the Repug/Tea Bagged in office want to gut ALL the regulations on Clean Air and Water and corporate pollution and totally allow any and all pollution that profits their corporate owners. Second, leaving the Vegan/Vegetarian goal of no animal products for any one aside, there is no way that the 30%, and rising, of Americans can afford to pay the price of food absolutely necessary in switching back to small farm/ranch food production. You can add to that the FACT that they is no way in an un-frozen hell that Repug/Tea Bagged politicians, State or Federal, will ever allow stripping their Corporate owners of their holdings or force them to change their highly profitable business model.
There is also the problem that most Drug Resistant Bacteria is caused by improper use and over prescription by people, not the use of anti-biotics in food production. MDRS and MRSA originate in medical settings not agricultural ones, because people demand and are given prescriptions for anti-biotics that are either un-necessary or taken improperly, they stop the protocol when they begin to feel better or try to keep some to save money; check out the stats for ear ache anti-biotic prescriptions by pediatricians.
Yes things can and should be done in more responsible ways but for example the use of farm waste for energy production is anathema to the Repug/Tea Bagged protectors of the Energy Status Quo profit margins so is Big government action for anything other than increasing the wealth of the Rich. Being an Idealist is only of value when wedded to pragmatism and the above proposals are not, they are a great ideas but there is no realistic view of the problem or plans to redistribute the factory farms, lands and animals down into smaller local family operations. Remember people that you have a Corporatist US Supreme Court Majority that not only considers corporations people but has given them more rights to buy elections than citizens have.

This is irresponsible. And I heartily dissaprove of "farming" methods that require th euse of antibiotics. When we need to have them, they won't work anymore. Not to mention the suffering of the animals being raised this way. Terrible and greedy.

Obama is nothing more than a house lackey for the corporate elites who have grown quite wealthy at the expense of the rest of us. Just like the rest of the teabagger crowd, he doesn't give a damn how much poison any of us wind up ingesting...just so long as we can make him and the rest of the 1% richer and richer. Anyone that wants safe food really needs to join a local CSA and get to know their local, sustainable organic farmers. It also pays in the long run to learn the fine science of canning.

All Masters have said it and the reasons are clearer now than ever before. Human beings are to eat that which is provided from Mother Earth as seeds, nuts, grains, fruits, herb and vegetable and the products we make from them.
