Stop Oil Companies From Using Oil Spill Cleanup Costs as Tax Write-Offs ACTION

Environment  (tags: ocean drilling, big oil, environment, destruction, habitatdestruction, environment, ecosystems )

- 1604 days ago -
Offshore drilling is unsafe and poses a serious threat to our environment. Oil companies should not be rewarded for mistakes made when prioritizing profits over people. Please urge Congress to end tax write-offs for oil companies' cleanup costs.

Congress & these Oil companies play these games,If the Administration press harder restriction towards these Oil giants, than they will move the Wells to other Waters, another problem, oil company like BP goes cheap and stick a poorly design Well, and use this in the deepest of waters which was a big factor to the Gulf Spill. It will be hard for Congress to enforce anything against these guys without prices for barrel oil going up.Some how Congress would have to draw a contract without any loop holes to take care of that "tax write-offs"

They should certainly be held accountable. Do we hold ourselves accountable for driving the demand with our consumption?

Ridiculous! Since when does anyone else get to be "rewarded" with a tax break when they screw up?!

Wish there could be a law that the CLEAN UP costs would come out of the top EXECUTIVES BONUS'.

If not the bonus, then SALARY. With what they make [OBSCENE], they could well AFFORD it.

No way should they get away with this : otherwise they will deliberately pollute the planet to earn tax write-offs.
