Agent Orange was the chemical defoliant used by the U.S. in Vietnam, and it caused lasting ecological damage as well as many serious medical conditions in both Vietnam veterans and the Vietnamese.

Having earned my "Mag.rer.nat" in chemistry, I consider production + dissemination of organochlorine compounds like 2,4-D (or, cosiderably more so, 2,4,5-T) a crime against humanity.

This being said, for reasons of fairness I also point out, that 2,4-D was about 1/2 --and the less problematic half-- of Agent Orange (dissemination of which I consider a crime against humanity of unspeakable proportions)

PS: do not believe the lies commonly told (e.g. repeatedly in wikipedia), that contamination [with dioxin] of the rainbow-herbicides was "discovered later" [than spraying in Vietnam, ie. 1961-1971]

It had been researched, and published by 1957. That's ninteen-FIFTY-seven.

And (I hope) I do not have to advice you to not believe the lies of the companies ( like Dow, Monsanto, Hercules, Bayer, ...) making profit from such poisons; and which are on record, and often even have been lawfully convicted, as habitual extreme liars.

Have signed and hope that the powers that be will stop this dangerous action. There is enough evidence to prove that Agent Orange has been responsiblefor the deaths of many thousands of Vietnamese when 80 million litres were sprayed over Southern Vietnam for ten-years from 1961. In addtion to causing thousands of stillborn, it has left Vietnam with near to four million suffering today from its effects.

Can I suggest that readers wishing to know more should go to: www.aoag.org

Signed and noted - why don't they add DDT and all the other appalling chemicals that major chemical companies assured everyone were safe - until years and years of people's suffering proved that they weren't?! What Is WRONG with these people???
