Being that my own Country has the Death Penalty, I suppose I have little room to talk. But death for adultry and she has the baby in jail with her. My goodness, what will happen to that child, and she is only 20 herself.

I don't suppose the one she had the affair with is also being stoned. You know, the man. Why is it always the woman is stoned yet it takes two to have an affair, you don't commit adultry by yourself. Stone the men too I bet you would see this law change quick enough.

A rape victim needs four witnesses according to some laws in the Middle East, wonder if there was four witnesses for the adultery charge. Religion is obsessed with sex.

Barbaric and ancient laws are out of date with the world these days.

The judge issuing this sentence should be stoned himself.
Where is the man who was part of this "affair/rape"... He should be stoned as well.

Barbaric religion if anyone could actually call this a religion... Ugh!

Ty, Nancy.

A woman AND HER BABY are shackled? Where did such ignorance come from and how does it manage to pass from generation to generation? These brutal and misogynistic laws have to change. Sudan should treat women like human beings.

Gladly signed and noted!

Living near a place where a stoning took place recently I stress how important it is to fight this torture. If anyone wants to truly understand the injustice and horror of stoning, find the Iranian film "The Story of 'M'". Stoning, as unjust as it is is also a slow death prolonged by those who throw the stones by purposely aiming to harm and not to kill until they decide the ending stone will be thrown. It's terror beyond human comprehension. Signed.

Loathsome, hypocritical males--they're half the couple in the "adultery", yet they suffer no shame, no punishment. Reminds me of our "1%"--they get all the gain, we get all the pain!

My heart is surely saddened by the absolute horror that this can be carried out in this day. I know that if the male in this situation received the same punishment this practice would end extremely quickly!

What absolute ignorance, barbarism and cruelty! Any religion and any law that would permit this needs to fade away. We are in a modern world with computers and space travel, yet we still have ignorant traditionalists who use barbarism to stay in power and to control the weak. The judges that hand down these sentences are frauds and their laws are irrelevant. They need to be replaced.

Thanks Robyn, for giving me corrected name to film. I was unable to find it under the story of M. Was doing a search and nothing came up but with the title you gave, The Stoning Of Soraya M, I found it.

Horrifying! These people doesn't have, unlike us in the civilized countries, their enlightenment till now. There is a long way to go till they are civilized too. We need 18. centuries for it (Declaration of Human Rights 1771 America, 1791 France).

When will they learn that we don't LIVE in The Old Testament Times. To be little a woman only shows a mans weakness and their mentality. Gladly Signed. Their not men of the cloth because they hide behind the cloth.

Noted, tweeted, signed, tweeted, and commented. Ladies, this is just the extreme of injustice and prejudice against women. You note we didn't hear what happened to her partner just her. The need to control women and keep them in inferior positions is in most societies. The Republicans are trying to do the same to US women. We may not be literally stoned, but they are trying to pass bills that will put us back into the 50's.It's time for US women to stand up against Republicans and all women to stand up to such injustice as being able to stone a woman for adultry.
