RIP Andy Griffith. This clip brings to mind a Benjamin Franklin wisdom: "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

This segment of the Andy Griffith show showed a moral man, trying to teach his son a lesson. In reality, this was a period of wire tapping, and informants. Hoover would have it no other way.

I remember when 911 happened TV Land ran a marathon of The Andy Griffith Show and they dedicated it to all the people who lost their lives. Andy, we will miss you and I salute you!! TY Nancy.

Thanks my buddy for posting... Andy Griffith was amazing and will be sorely missed. His show provided teaching tools through humour that are so lacking in t.v. programs today.

Really sorry that we have a lot more Barney Fife situations now. We really need a lot more Sheriff Andy Taylor law enforcement.

I remember seeing Andy Griffith in A Face in The Crowd when I was about 17 and I was so impressed that I remember it to this day. He was a wonderful actor who could play many parts and we believed him in them all. I still watch Matlock and love him in it. He had a good life, bless him.

Yep, we the youth of his era, were using the slogan "Make Love Not War".

We did what we could to stop the "establishment". Many of us sold out. Many of us did not. Many of us are with Care2 still using our voices and making our demands "Make Peace NOT War". "Save our planet." "Stand up and be counted."

The generation of Andy Griffith and other such family programs were proclaiming with a loud voice, "Make Love not war." We still have loud voices. Many of us are with Care2 and other "Rainbow Warrior" groups. We are proclaiming, with a loud voice, "Save our Earth!"

I used to watch andy Griffith as a kid and I still enjoy it. It was funny but he was a great community person who helped people and tried to teach his son without being degrading. we could use more parents and law people like him today.

Really loved this video. Thanks, Nancy! I don't think I missed an episode of this show while growing up. Always such wonderful lessons regarding honor, justice, truth....and done with great humor as well.

One of the most decent actors on t.v, there was always a lesson in each show. Honesty, manners and being fair to others, where a big part of his shows. He was down to earth and had common sense. He was truly a great actor and will be missed terribly. ''RIP ANDY''!!!!
