Dog Killing Is Out Of Control: Demand New Management At Georgia Shelter ACTION

Animals  (tags: dogs, protection, animalwelfare, shelter, Georgia, animalcruelty, pets )

- 2150 days ago -
With capacity set at 55 and a steady stream of new animals showing up, populations of 70-90 become the norm. Thus, open admission ensures even more animals are murdered as capacity populations overflow more swiftly than even animal rescue outfits can...

signed. So many times people in authority positions don't really care for animals or don't have a back bone to stand up to the Board of Directors of the facility. The Board of Directors are only interested in where the money comes in from and not the animals.

Oh another horror story about people who love to kill............there aren't words vile enough for this kind of thing when other shelters have a 100% adoption rate..........why is this allowed to go on? Don't the people of this town have any heart or feelings or sense of justice? What is the matter with them, are they so blind that when a life is's done....the animal is dead...there is no bringing his life back? Who in this world has the right to take an innocent animal's life? It's so horrifying that this is still happening..............what I wish for this man cannot be printed here.............but he should be watching for the ax to fall on him...

Signed and noted. Shared to FB, Every night I spend cross-posting and trying to save animals. Stories such as this are becoming commonplace. It gets to be very hard to sleep...We CAN scream about the shelters at the top of our voice, but until laws are put in place to DEMAND spay/neuter, to DEMAND puppy mill shutdowns, and to DEMAND stricter laws of abuse and abandonment. The general public needs to be responsible also..People get a cute puppy, it grows up and they ditch it. Had a lady come into our local shelter one day to surrender a dog. She said her husband would not let her get another one that had "caught her eye" until she got rid of the one she brought in. We did not turn the pooch away. Dogs are not there to "catch your eye" - They are there to CATCH YOUR HEART! Until our society as a whole realizes that we have become a selfish, throwaway , vile bunch, with no regard for life in it's many forms, I hold little hope that these type of stories will go away...Still, I will cross-post, I will sign petitions, I will go volunteer, I will be a voice for the animals, because I have yet to see a child "put down" because they are homeless.

Noted & Signed! How sad that so many of these shelters become more dedicated to euthanizing these animals rather than what they should be doing- finding and placing them in good homes! So many of these animals are highly adoptable. It's just that many of these shelters are not using all of the strategies available to them to increase adoptions! Shame on this shelter for accepting high rates of euthanasia as a solution instead of doing right by these animals! The manager of this shelter needs to be replaced by a morally progressive individual who is actually committed to saving lives!

signed and noted....why oh why do we have the demonic people working in these areas, who, intact, do not give a damn about these animals....only the paycheck at the end of the eye for an eye you SOB, you will indeed get what is coming to you one day.....I have 4 shelter animals, and it seems they are so much more loving and appreciated every day they are with you with uncondtional love. It is like they know you saved them and want to show you every day!!!!! My heart is hurting to know so many animals are murdered every as they have crossed Rainbow Bridge, they are now free, healthy, happy and living the "good life" they so deserve!!!! God bless all of them!!!!!

For every action there is a reaction. According to the law of karma, if we cause

pain and suffering to other living beings, we must endure pain and suffering in

return, both individually and collectively. We reap what we sow, in this life and

the next, for nature has her own justice. No one can escape the law of karma.

It's a sad fact that many southern states in the US have out of control pet over population and sky high kill rates at shelters because of dismal adoption rates. One would have hoped that in the US we would have evolved enough to not have to deal with human stupidity and arrogance resulting in the mass killing of homeless animals.

Situation in Georgia was what made me became a cross poster. But attitude of the majority of the population in the nation is making me thinking on leaving it. Shelters are hell but people are not calling heavens enough.
PEOPLE IS NOT OPENING HOME DOORS TOO ANIMALS AS SHOULD BE....... MANY rescues (ATTENTION!!!- I AM NOT SAYING ALL !!!!!) are there to make money and puppy mill products that are the majority of animals surviving shelters are prefered by people adopting and obviously, become the rescues prefered ones too because they are adopted easier..... Combination is lethal to real needey overexploited dogs like PIT BULLS, BULL TYPE, CHIS, the real stray/homeless and -BIG- OLD, ORPHANS,LESS APPEALING, DISSABELED, SICK, BLACK, PREGNANT, MOMMAS & PUPS,DESCRIBED AS AGRESSIVE, USED AS BAIT, VICTIMS OF FORECLOSSURE, for 2nd Time in shelter etc.......

Signed. The real problem is those that let their dogs and cats breed. They are the ones we need to go after. After all, if there wasn't so many dogs and cats in the world, there wouldn't be any need for shelters to clean up the mess that these irresponsible people make.
