Corporate Control of the Democratic Process.

This is corruption.

Since I already boycott Safeway and Target among other mass consumer outlets, I hope you ALL will never again shop at
Safeway or Target - or El Super, which are among the funders of that false information blitz against Prop 37.

I was very disappointed. There are still ways to tell if products are GMO. Fresh produce that is organic starts with a 9 on the label/sticker, convention produce starts with a 4 and GMO produce starts with a 5.

Also read labels for ingredients not limited to but including: Canola oil, soy, soybean oil, soya, soy lecithin, beet sugar, corn syrup, corn starch, corn sugar, vegetable oil (most likely corn) and look for the word 'modified" Plus words you don't recognize. I'm sure others can add to the list.

I am so incredibly pissed off at my state for not passing this. What, do people not care that they're eating food that has shown to cause health problems? Would people rather stick their head in the sand and just not know instead of go into the store and see a GMO label on pretty much everything they buy? GAH! I still can't believe it failed.

For the most part if was super pleased with all the election results......this was the big disappointment for me even though I don't live in CA. Thanks for the advice Roseanne. We have been buying only fresh and organic since I had read that GMOs could not be labelled organic. As for all the processed junk, we assume that most all of it contains GE corn or soy to some extent.

How is that it was DEFEATED????

"Companies like Monsanto &The Hershey Co. contributed to what was eventually a $44 million windfall for "No on Prop 37" while proponents were only able to raise $7.3 million. Opponents of Prop 37 blitzed California with campaign ads on a variety of different reasons GMO labeling would be costly for consumers & punitive to businesses like small farms & mom-&-pop stores......

I'M not selfish: I might say OK it's a US problem because LUCKILY in EUROPE GMO's are BANNED............

HOW CAN a Test CARRIED OUT by Monsanto, & thus PAID by Monsanto, on Monsanto's Products BE IMPARTIAL & OBJECTIVE & RELIABLE (Big Corporation$$)??

MONSANTO tested its products for 2 months, on GMO-fed Rats, DECLARING that GMO FOOD is GOOD FOR YOUR HEALTH!!!! (And CALIFORNIA was CONSTANTLY HEARING these LIES)........
While an INDEPENDENT Team of Scientists (Frech) INDEPENDENTLY & SECRETLY & IMPARTIALLY Tested for 2 YEARS (not 2 months) on GMO-fed rats & PROVED (a lot of photos testimony it) that GMO’s CAUSE an ENTIRE LIST OF DISEASES including the development of TUMORS!!!!! This is why the European Union rejected GMOs.
It seems to me like the Pharmaceutical Producer of the TALIDOMIDE (1950 - 1960) DECLARING NO SIDE EFFECTS for their product ($$) THAT ACTUALLY CREATED TERRIBLE DEFORMITIES in the children whose mothers had assumed it.
It seems to me like a WHATSOEVER OIL & GAS COMPANY (Big Corporation$$) carrying out Tests on the effects of CLIMATE CHANGE & STATING that GLOBAL WARMING DOESN’T EXIST!!!!!

Thx Nancy. This is a shame and the biggest disappointment in this election cycle. The same goes for prop 34 failing to pass. I am beyond words... Just saw your post now after I have also posted an opinion piece on it.

What a shame. All I can say it more education needs to be done on GMO's...I don't think many people still realize what GMO's are and all about. If they did, how could anyone in their sane mind vote against this.

I noticed my ducks and chickens eat everything but the corn in their ration. Furthermore, no wild bird or rodent will touch this stuff! If it falls on the ground (and mind you, this corn is cracked) even broken pieces will sprout. I voted for Prop. 37 and will support any effort to regulate this stuff. I am disappointed that voters fell for the line backed by Monsanto and their cronies.

Sad news, but I hope that such a measure will succeed next time.

Prop 37 didn't lose. As of yesterday, almost 3 million votes remained UNCOUNTED. Prop 37 was only behind by 559,776 votes. This is bullshit! COUNT THE VOTES!!!

My daughter has a friend who had a baby. The child has a "genetic disorder" according to the physician. His brain is, well, it's unbelievable.....white, squashy.

I think it may be that dang! GE
