Abrupt climate change will not be appeased, but it can be taxed, and thus reduced, through first a national and eventually a global carbon tax.

Oh my goodness!
A tax on carbon emssions? What a scary thought!
Does this mean that Big Business may have to take responsibility for their actions?

Signed, of course. I do hope it works. The one downside to taxing something undesirable is that it eventually becomes a source of revenue that can't be done without. Look at tobacco. I hope we can replace it before that happens.

The statement that "Abrupt climate change won't (or can't) be appeased is, in itself, nonsensical. Climate change is a process, not an entity that can, or can not somehow be "appeased," spoken to, bargained with, etc.
However, the petition has been signed and noted.
Those who fight the weight of evidence about the reality of climate change , can not be 'appeased," either, they need to be educated about the long term impact of the financial cost of denial, compared to the profit of short term gain (as the whole denial is based on their not wanting to spend money on remediation, so it can go into their pockets), or be somehow made irrelevant to the discussion.

Thanks, Nancy. A global carbon tax is rational, and therefore unlikely to be adopted - certainly unless loud noises are made against the appeasers of those who reap short-term profit from the process of global, anthropogenic climate change they have unleashed.

BTW, aren't entities processes? As Buckminster Fuller wrote, "I (at least) seem to be a verb." (Parenthetical matter added.)

An incentive to stop carbon pollution would be good. I hope it can be done, although industry is powerful and stubborn.
