Tell Walmart it must join an independent fire safety inspection program supported by Bangladeshi and international labour unions, to prevent tragedies like this.

Signed. This is what happens when our jobs go overseas. We not only loose our jobs, but we fought to have better working conditions. Now these Corporations go over to other Countries that don't have the same worker protections and they exploit them. So they die in fires, like the people use to do over here. Remember the TriAngle Shirt Waist Fire? If not, google it and find out we use to be in the same situation. These Corporate CEO's in my mind are the criminals, the ones who make the most money care nothing for the people who slave to make them rich. I hope all these people start to organize and here in the USA we need to increase our Unions. This is a tragedy that did not have to happen.

I agree totally with Dandelion--this tragedy did not have to happen. If the CEO's of these companies would just invest a small portion of their profits back into the business, the workers could live in relative normalcy, and feel safe at work. This is the ultimate "don't give a damn" about those who are making your money for you--that these people died, horribly, in this totally preventable manner, shows just how little their "bosses" think of them. I would be willing to bet that, far from "improved conditions", another fire-trap will be raised quickly, workers installed, and status quo maintained--THIS is why corporations go to these countries--cheap, disposable labor and no laws!
Thank you, Nancy, for the post.

Tried to send stars to Dandelion and Teresa and others but the computer wouldn't let me! Thanks Nancy - already signed - just like CEO's to try and turn the clock back over a hundred years when they were able to do the same all over the world - until our grandparents and great grandparents took a stand against them!

Signed and noted with deep sympathy for those who lost their lives so that consumers can buy large numbers of inexpensive items that they don't necessarily need. The sad things is, there are probably thousands more people waiting to take their place in the production lines.
