The Federal Communications Commission is considering a proposal to open up a wider share of the high-quality wireless spectrum for public use. This would be an important first step toward making fast, free, public Wi-Fi available to everyone.

" wireless " == electro-polluting

clearly we need more pollution ... to keep the '''economy'' healthy (who cares about people, animals, plants)

In the hills of the Finger Lakes where I live, this would mean polluting our beautiful landscape with more towers. As it is we don't have cell reception and don't care, fiber optic anything or cable TV. We don't miss any of that. I would never trade my visual horizon of trees and woods for another damn cell tower.

There is certainly a need for better access for many people who can't afford internet access. More and more we are being forced into doing so much of our business on the internet, yet for those who have no access they can't get in some areas even their lights turned on. Many benefits programs are forcing people to go to the internet to place in their claims.

I understand unslightly views and electro magnetic concerns but there must be a compromise or a better way of doing things. Go back to more paper is fine with me as long as we can grow industrial hemp so no trees need to be cut and paper is recycled. I know in some communities the towers are disguised as tall trees or painted to blend in with the back drop. We are going to need more Wind Mills, some find them an eye sore as well yet can we keep going with the fossil fuels that are causing other issues.

This is where Communities need to come together and work out solutions that will be the highest and best for as many as possible.

I signed but I'll believe it when it passes, the FCC and the FDA along with many other government agencies have a tendency to cater to the wealthy segment of our society. Thanks Nancy

I signed but now that I've read everyone comments I've learnt that it was a whoops moment. I think Dandelion sums it up quite nicely ;-)
