Please do whatever you can, all care2 members, to keep this campaign and issue prominent.

Tens of thousands of letters need to be generated to belatedly right this grave miscarriage of justice.

If necessary , explore just what occurred with fabrication of evidence, coercion of witnesses into false testimony, Lying on the stand , obfuscation by the FBI and Prosecutor of actual evidence pointing toward Leonard's innocence of the charge, failure of a biased judge to recuse himself, and much more.

Native Americans need AIM more today than ever - just as women need the ERA! It's SO sad that we have to keep fighting the fights that should have been done years ago. Good people keep getting lost in the cruelty of government indifference..:(

A terrible, disgraceful injustice has been carried out against this man for far too long. Let him go back to his people. Enough is enough.

Everyone involved in this travesty know that granting his freedom is the right thing to do, but they won't because they are cowards and are afraid of Leonards wisdom, they will never admit they were wrong...karma will even the score someday.

Thank You Letter from Leonard For Support On June 26th Memorial

July 4, 2013 Messages From Leonard

To all of the many brothers and sisters who supported me on June 26th, I offer my humble “thank you.” I understand you could have been enjoying time with your families and doing other things, but you believe in justice for all people like I do. Your love of freedom and dedication to fight for what is right led you to set aside all other things and remember that June 26th is the day the Oglala people were put to the test once more.
I don’t think of myself as anyone special, or extra ordinary, I am just a Native man with a love for my people and our way of life. I know that if any of you were called upon to protect the elders, the woman and children, you would do it unselfishly. So on June 26th, when you were praying, I was there praying with you. When you were crying for justice, I was crying too.
Please, remind each other of how valuable freedom is to us. We need to do more than talk about our human rights, we need to clean up our own back yards and ensure our actions speak for us. If we talk the talk, we better be able to walk the walk. Again, thank you to each and every one of you, from the youngest to the most elderly for remembering me. I am extremely humbled.
Doksha.
In the Spirit of Crazy Horse,
Leonard Peltier.

Oh dear Nancy - I am so sorry, but I don't have Facebook and I can't send a postcard due to my illness - but I can and will pray. Have been looking a lot on the net - I can remember signing things about Leonard a couple of years ago, but had to remind myself.

Have done similar writings and petitions since he went into prison, will continue to do. However, the hope that I had long time ago is mostly gone. I will never loose the last shred of hope, but there is no intention to ever let this man see the light of day beyond prison walls by the ones who hold him there. This isn't nor ever has been justice, this is Vendetta and an ongoing Statement to ALL the Indian people.

There is little Justice in this society for the American Indian, minorities or the poor, and now with the Justice system becoming more privately owned, the Corporate owned Media and Government all people, minority or not will see how justice is when you don't have the money to buy it. The Multi-National Corporations along with the Bankers seizes your land, pollute your waters, and spit in your face when you complain. Your very Government is Owned, by those same entities that have the $.

This is the justice that has been for Indians and minorities for years upon years. When you don't stand up for your brothers or sisters it tends to spread to everyone's doorstep.

I've been STANDING STRONG FOR LEONARD for almost 30 years and have an LPDOC chapter here in Western Australia....if any W.A folks are interested go to Facebook and search LPDOC Bibra Lake, West Australia Chapter. There are also chapters in other states and an LPDOC Australia, Asia Chapter. I email the Whitehouse, send hand written letters and call the message line regularly. We recently held a Candlelight Vigil at the US Consulate in Perth city on 4th July which was very successful. Where there's life there is ALWAYS HOPE so we keep up the fight.

Ok..... I have the envelope addressed and stamped...a sheet of paper is ready to write on...later today I'll mail it'. I also shared several video's from Leonards FB page ...... I was about 30 when this happened... I am still stunned that Leonard Peltier has not been released. A big cover up and abuse of power. I am praying that Obama WILL pardon him before he exits public office. .....
Leonard Peltier deserves to go home and smell the flowers....!!!!!!!!
Thanks Nancy for posting and to Dandelion for forwarding it to me...... Keep the fires burning...the torches of truth passed along to one and all......!

Will definitely write. I am not convinced his imprisonment is a statement of any kind against Native Americans, but perhaps more that if they do allow him to go, they will be forced to admit to falsely imprisoning so many others and this could cause great repercussions. They could very well be saying, "if you let this man go, you will have to let these others go, as well" and they are fearful that all of their policies and actions of the past could be brought down on them. Also, the FBI has long been saying that letting him go would be like spitting on the graves of those slain men, and even though that is BS, I cannot see our current President standing up to that, although I truly wish he would take a stand for this man. All the people want is for this man to go free, because he was never convicted of anything that warranted the prison sentence he was given. Talk about atrocities against a people. I wish this would be picked up by someone like Matt Damon and a BIG movie would be made from this story.

Bless you Nancy for the reminder. I thank Dandelion for posting this in her news as I've been working and too busy to open this earlier. Five years ago I recall asking who is this man I keep hearing about. Since then I have written many letters, sent many phone calls, and read as much info as I can retain. I have his Book within reaching distance and pick it up often.
I also will write a Lovely Letter as well as find the proper words to email right now.
Unfortunately I agree with Dandelion and Stephen, from what I know. Tears Bleeding from my Heart.

Lisa, you are connected to 91 C2 friends, please forward to them. I'm not on FB either but I forward to my C2 connections and to those on personal email. Let people know you speak to daily or on the phone, are you part of any clubs or perhaps go to a church. FB isn't the be all and end all of letting others know.
