As the Arctic rapidly heats up, however, there's less of a temperature difference between the equator and the poles, and the downhill slope in the atmosphere is accordingly less steep. This creates a weaker jet stream, a jet stream that meanders more or-

We often get Arctic style winter anyway when one lives in parts of southern Canada. However, I would simply say Winter go away, I want Spring.

I know it is horrible to be excited about the cold as a result of human induced climate change. But, we rarely get good snows and freezing temps were I live and I love it. I guess I love it because we do not get it that much.

Thus, it is not at all nuts to draw a connection between extreme weather, including extreme winter weather, and climate change. In fact, what would be truly stunning would be if the dramatic warming of the Arctic were not affecting the weather. And their are still climate change deniers ?
Thanks Nancy.

Hard times ahead....

And still hardly any serious action taken to limit global warming...

Thanks Nancy!

Noted, thanks Nancy for posting. The most important conclusion of the article is "In fact, what would be truly stunning would be if the dramatic warming of the Arctic were not affecting the weather." and yet climate change deniers are actually using the cold weather to contradict global warming. Go figure.
