Violent conflict is uncoiling around South Sudan. The political struggle at the heart of the civil war has torn open seams of ethnic divide and created a condition whereby localized conflicts are escalating.

I dream of the day of a weapon free world.....however, unlikely it will be.

Nice idea; would be even nicer if more and more people supported it

In a perfect world, we are not. Be a targeted corpse or a breathing shooter ? Ideals work when all subscribe to them. Till all subscribe to higher ideals and behave accordingly there will never be any peace.
How many eons before that happens ? Violence is escalating. Lethal force used more and more often for hardly justifiable reasons and criminal attacks with weapons.
We face double jeopardy from cops and criminals..get tazered to death I feel purposely..you know.. those Nazi types like following their orders. Mob no better.
Two hostile elements armed and dangerous and we, stupid us, are not capable of defending ourselves from either..someone is deluded..so we take our chances every day, as unarmed potential victims of a drug crazed or enraged criminal, cop or terrorist wanna be.. and chew lawn grass fantasizing about peace no one feels able to fight for or die for or kill for..it's one of those ironies..
Barely out of the caves yet..still just animals when we get squeezed hard enough or even just nudged a little :)
The way this planet is intentionally keep in a state of perma wars, the hate, jealousies, fears, greed, forget peace..:)
Learn to shoot fast and straight for the future..they are coming :0) You will live or you will die..me too, but I die with company on the ride.:) Fighting terrorists in corporate organized criminal activities against us.
Not bleeding for oil pipe lines or opium.

Well, Will, I for one would far rather be a targeted corpse that a breathing shooter. I would not be able to live with myself. And I am a veteran.

I do wish weapons have never been invented. Of course, people will always find another way to hurt one another, unfortunately, but the unavailability of weapons would make that human characteristic much more difficult, and less dangerous.

I agree with Jeremy. I too wish they had never been created. I pray that people can become more caring and be at peace instead of war and hate. Thanks Nancy
