Springing forward can do a lot more damage than just making you sleepy. So, take care!!!

Interesting Nancy, thank you. It's always been a wonder to me why more place don't reject the use of DST.
Not all countries use it. Here in Canada the Province of Saskatchewan does not use it nor do several towns in Ontario. Heck I am retired, I think I will stop using it. The computer adjusts to DST so it will use to remind me of any daily appointments. The other clock in the house, the one I use to gauge my sleep and meals will remain unchanged. Hmmm can it be this easy? Will give it a try and see.

For Robert T. That is just not nice. BTW, you misspelled comment. I do not like DST, but since I am retired, I did not lose an hour of sleep. Changed my clocks this morning. So what I lost is an hour out of my day.

Shared on facebook. I have been speaking out for this to stop for years now. There is more debate in Canada about this and I am feeling a bit hopeful that this may be the last time we have to do this.

I love DST, especially where I live. It sure makes attending meetings that are scheduled after work a lot easier to go to. I end up driving home while it is still daylight. Without DST, I would not be able to go to any evening meetings. Even in summer, it gets dark early in the valley.

Please, please, PLEASE those of you who want the same kind of time all year round, show some consideration for the elderly and disabled, like me and presumably Donna G, and make it DST all year round, NOT Standard. It really isn't good for people who already have health issues to be essentially under house arrest all winter due to early darkness. It's probably already causing huge increases in Seasonal Affective Disorder and suicides. Please, make it Daylight ear round, NOT Standard!!!

Noted. Thanks, Nancy. We don't change time in AZ. Tried it once in the 60's and nobody liked it.

BTW...I feel like a zombie today because we in Nebraska lost an hour of sleep last night. :-)

Daylight Savings Time is proof that our government hates our guts. We are a 24/7 economy with modern electrical lights everywhere. Let's have one time all the time and be done with it.

Message to the gubbermint: End this nightmare. Pick a time and stick to it. I am becoming stupidified and am getting more pissed at the republicans for not doing some real work.

I am also confused. Just chatted with my sis who lives in AZ. As they do not change time, I figured there would be an hours difference. She said NO.and told me her time which was the same as mine. Can anyone clear this up for me?

When I read of the damage to our health that DST inflicts, I can't help but be reminded, it's not nice to fool Mother Nature.

In response to Dotti's above question, we in AZ are on the same time as CA during the summer, and the same time as NM & CO in the winter. No we don't change, thankfully!

It would be good to perhaps remove the need to change the time for a period of time, just to measure and see whether there is any measurable effect or not. . .

In an earlier comment, I said I was confused about the time in Arizona. DUH, I looked it up online and AZ is in Mountain Standard time zone. Also, it worked out well for me to not change my clocks until I got up on Sunday. It would not work of course if one had to work that day.

I was enjoying the regular time tremendously when all the electronics needed to be reset. Feh!

A survey was taken all over the country asking people if they would prefer the standard time saying and no more changing of the clocks 80% said yes. So why don't they ever listen to the people!

I still haven't quite recovered from this recent time change. Feels like the worst jet lag. Why the feck do we still need "daylight savings time" ? :::mutters:::

People and animals have to be able to adjust, I don't see any point making a fuss over daylight saving time.

An interesting article, but as always it doesn't matter what we say, the governments will still do as they like.! Thank you Nancy. Noted.
