The most powerful lobby group in Australia - the polluting industries like coal, cement, aluminium and mining - is currently swarming the halls of Parliament, trying to convince Kevin Rudd to allow them to continue to destroy our climate.

The Kimberley -- what's the fuss? A region as vast as it is beautiful in north-west Australia, faces imminent exploitation by an industrialising China, Japanand the material world. Watch the video.

The technology is there and can be had if only the big corporations would take advantage of them. They just do not want to spend their moneys on new technology as doing so would cut into the greedy bottom profit line. heaven forbid that the CEO's, Board of Directors won't be able to earn their over-inflated salaries.

Petition signed.

TY, Lyn.

signed and noted. The WA labour government have done NOTHING to reduce greenhouse emissions in their recently released budget. We expect the same from the federal labour government. You labour supporters voted for them.

Hi Pauline, the conservative coalition has a history and policies which are even more pro-corporate greed, anti-environment than the Labor Party does. The only parties who are more environmentally friendly are those who more progressive than the Labor Party: the Greens and Socialist Alliance.

So let's give 1st preference to the Socialist Alliance, 2nd preference to the Greens, and 3rd preference to the Australian Labor Party. That way, in each seat, even if the more progressive candidates don't get elected, at least we will be giving our vote to the Australian Labor Party, rather than to the conservative coalition.
