Subject: Did you hear about the hunger crisis?

Hi,

The world hunger crisis is all over the news this week. In just three years, the price of staple foods like wheat, corn and rice has almost doubled. If we don't do something soon, hundreds of thousands of people face starvation and a hundred million more could fall into extreme poverty.

I just took action with the ONE Campaign and you can too, here:

I will not sign this ...and the reason why is this...petitions will not increase the food supplies in the world. We need to make a true effort to conserve and change our fuel consumption. To provide fuel for our lovely vehicles that we use here they are using food land to grow corn . This corn is not being used to food it is being used for fuel so we can sit alone in our suv's and drive 1 block to the grocery store .....and quite frankly screw the poorest of the poor of our world. If you want to post something I will sign post a petition to President Bush to stop using food for fuel and start doing real not imagined changes before it is too late ,,,,because trust me on this folks this food crisis is going to hit you too.
I was in the States last week and I was amazed by the high food prices ....and what surprised me about this particular grocery store was it gave a discount ...but not on fresh fruit or vegetables only on junk type food ...should tell you something .

Re- surely this petition is as food as a kick in the butt for George Bush
Are you kidding ....
George Bush does not give one hoot about you or your family or anyone else in the world who is going to starve....this is the same man who watched his fellow American's bodies float in the streets of New Orleans and Mississippi and did noting

Noted. Signed petition. Thank you for posting this, Jocelyn. Speaking out is always important and I think we all recognize that it cannot be ALL that we do. It is the office I address...not the person presently occupying it. The concern is a global one, but there is much, much that can be done at home immediately that would have an impact.

Agree with Margaret that Bush doesn't give a damn, but it's much bigger than that. All world "leaders" and Church "officials" eat very well worldwide, while 30,000 starve everyday. They all play the stock market while people they could easily feed, starve. NO ONE BORN SHOULD STARVE!

"They" control all your food, water and energy. As the price become out of reach, which will I give up, heat, food, doctor, etc.? The squeeze is just beginning here in the U.S.

"They" are poisoning everyone with these toxic foods disguised as products from companies you "trust". If it is produced by a company with shareholders, IMHO, don't eat it.

It's much easier to take down a population that is sick, poisoned, dumbed down, etc,...think of the toxic soup of chemicals a child born today eats from day 1, the illness' will mount and more groups will be formed to save them, big bucks in "saving" people........not feeding them.

I signed the petition gladly, at the least they raise awareness and I hope someone else reads my comments I left about world and church leaders eating well, and another one of us catches on to their scam. We are all very special, but not to the power people, we are just slaves, and the slave population is starting to take away from the resources needed by the elite, so that equals GENOCIDE, WORLDWIDE. One way or another they want you to die early and they want to cash out on your death.

Noted, thank you Jocelyn.

Sandra wonderful points you make--yes we are just beginning to feel the squeeze. The flip side of the coin is that when people are starving they don't have much to loose--think French Revolution. I will sign altho I don't know how much effect will be, one small action is better than no action at all.
