The Western Gray Whale is one of the most endangered whale populations on earth. There are only about 150 and their principal feeding area is located adjacent to the offshore platforms of one the world's largest integrated oil and gas projects:

We need these gentle giants of the oceans. We still do not know enough of their life or what are their migratory routes. We are just learning the true facts of the oceans, and we can not afford to lose any member of the oceanic fauna. We are losing whales to whale hunting bu Japan, Norway and if I remember correctly, Iceland. But it may have been also dolphins... We need the giants to keep our oceans healthy, and we need to respect them not only for their size, but also for their intelligence. They have social groups like we do, they mostly live in family groups like we do and all adult whales will help in the upbringing of the young ones. And then oil tankers, whale hunters and other factors are threatening the dwindling numbers of already critically endangered whales. We need to stop whale hunting, and oil cargo ships should not sail where w know the whales are.
