Thanks, Timpana! This should be a "must see" for a lot of Americans who are "asleep at the wheel".

Thanks, Timpana.

What I find very ironic is that CNN would call the American public "uninformed" when they are complicit in withholding information themselves. How much coverage did they give Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich presenting the articles of impeachment, recent revelations regarding 911?

Just watch Jay Leno's Jaywalking. The worst had to be woman majoring in Education who did not recognize Al Gore.

How good are our public schools? I ask people to check out their schools, especially inner-city schools.

Ignorance is costing us. It costs more money to house an inmate in prison than an Ivy League school. "Also, it is actually safer to live on death row in America than some high-crime neighborhoods!" (Quotation courtesy of the book "The gift of fear", authorization to use the quote on file.)

This helps explain why so many people are not being taught the truth. As a Right-winger, I find the single biggest challenge facing America the NEA. Our teachers are not accountable the way liberals try to hold corporations accountable. No one says a word about schools that do not teach.

CNN and FOX are becoming just alike. They tell try tell us who to vote for. Their is no shame in mainstream broadcasting any more. I get my information for differebt sources. That inables me to be a better voter. I am not ingorance. I think the right ring has had to much power and is losing it. MOst everyone is sick and tired of the ranting and raving. When someone from a major Presidenal Campaign states that an Terrorist attach woud help that candidate , who is trying to a right wing president candidate. After 8 years of Bush enough is enough

A lot of the blame, has to be laid at the door of the media. If someone only watches Fox,then I wouldn't be surprised that they beleive Saddam et al responsible for 9/11.There seems to be no law, based around truth telling in this respect.
Sometimes people beleive what they want to,its a cosy comforting zone in which to live.Id mostly argue that we all have a responsibility to find out for ourselves. However if you work in 2 or 3 jobs, and are bringing up children, you haven't got as much time to check around.
In Britain,we suffer from having a popular Murdoch paper The Sun,if I were only to read taht paper id beleive ...it was right to invade Iraq/immigrants are responsible for most crimes/gays are funny, and exist to be laughed at/workers who want payrises are bad, though to limit the pay of ceos is wrong..
Garbage in,garbage out..or "treat people like mushrooms, keep them in the dark, and feed them bulls**t".
An unaware populace of passive media recipients, knowing nothing but how to consume, suits some people.

If voting wasnt "fixed" anyway, maybe it would matter.

I find most people "willfully ignorant". My own mother and sister are voting for McCain because they are "Christians" and are making their decision based solely on his anti-abortion campaign! It sickens me to know my own family would try to put that evil b%&$@*d in any political office let alone the presidency!

When someone who gets payed less then 200,000 thousand dollars a year and at the end of their first 4 year term are now multi-millionaires, one could only ask how that happens. Yet 90 percent of those in congress and the Senate who never had any money when they went into politics come out as multi-millionaires. There is a very good reason for that and its called influence peddling of which EVERY SINGLE member of our CONGRESS< SENATE AND THE WHITE HOUSE all practice. You are absolutely right Mark if we were informed we wouldn't vote for any of them. Why would a Billionaire such as Jay Rockefeller or the Idiot Kennedy ever want to serve in the Senate. Maybe its to make the lives of the MIDDLE CLASS better? I think not. It is strictly to influence legislation that is beneficial to their own cause of POWER AND MORE INFLUENCE.

As an American, I couldn't agree more. However, people's comments are dead on. The news networks are a major force behind this ignorance. They are only looking for ratings and will happily show us story after story about celebrity gossip and other bs repeatedly over showing any real info that can inform people. That;s not even to touch on the very real issue of the biased and ignorant manner in which they parlay the info about world events when they do...

These were voters, Bill. Voters are people who vote. They ARE stupid and that's why they DO vote.

And to arm your enemy and then fight against them may be chivalrous, but it isn't a winning strategy. Voting delegates your power to government, if you want to resist government, don't delegate it your power because that just makes it stronger and more difficult to resist.

Well Mark I'll speak only for myself: It appears that "I'm damned if I do, and damned if I don't"! What say you?

We are a nation of ignorance and apathy - I don't know and I don't care. It's too sad to realize that more people participate in TV show voting than do our elections to appoint officials to protect our interests or how we live and grow our families!

It is hard to listen and decide what matters, but we simply must pay attention, and make our viewpoints known to those who stand to represent We The People. It is our job to make them do their job! Vote 'em OUT when they don't keep their promises! No second chances.

Regarding voting or not . . . There are already numerous citizens who do not vote each election, and their voice isn't heard any louder by what they don't do. I've said it before, though Mark didn't like it, but we have to use the crappy system to change the system - which means we vote!

Now if we could agree to write in None of the Above when we vote, I would be up for that! At least that action would be proof of people coming out to voice their concerns about a broken system, insead of appearing to not care at all - which is what not voting represents (to me).

Well, if the guy who programs the central tabulator that COUNTS your vote, doesn't want you to vote them out, he'll just flip your vote to them. If you weren't apathetic, you'd have learned how our votes are counted, how the machines that count them are programmed, and why proof of election fraud cannot prevent somebody who was fraudulently elected from killing millions more people in wars of aggression and making taxpayers foot the bill. But as long as you don't care to learn the truth, you'll continue to be apathetic, continue to vote, and continue to parrot stupid arguments that a 3-year-old could see were illogical.

No in November! For those who are aware and those who really care!

How can not making a decision, not voting help?? My vote may be stolen, but I WILL cast it.

Bill, I've said my say and if you weren't listening you can just go to any of the links Carole has provided and read the facts.

And by the way, when it comes to elections, nobody has to take what I say on trust or faith, as most of it is fully sourced and documented. I do on occasion engage in some high-flying rhetoric to make a point, but the last time I did it somebody posted a comment proving that what I had thought was a huge exaggeration was nothing more than the literal truth.

Some days ya can't lose for winning. ROFL

Interesting attitude, Melva. Deciding not to vote in rigged elections IS a decision. When somebody knows that a particular neighborhood is notorious for car thefts, and decides not to park there, that IS a decision. Those who park there despite knowing that their car is likely to be stolen, often get exactly what they're asking for.
