UNICEF Ambassador Lucy Liu began her latest UNICEF trip yesterday. She visited the Kigali Memorial Center, established as a reminder to Rwanda and the world of the horrors of genocide, and she is heading to the Democratic Republic of Congo.

See if more Hollywood youth would follow the likes of Ms. Liu or Brad and Angelina or others who care more about the world and not just their partying, they would find peace to do their work and to help at the same time. Poor Poor Paris, Britney, and Lindsey, they are so overworked and need to be in rehab.
They are spoiled and selfish. Kudos to all Hollywood artists who take the time and make the effort to help the planet! Who needs and Oscar or a limo when you can save even one life?

This quote from Ms. Liu's blog is shocking: "Since 1998, conflict in the DR Congo has contributed to the deaths of an estimated 4 million people, half of them children. This makes DR Congo the deadliest conflict on earth since World War II." Why do we hear all sorts of ridiculous minutia about Paris Hilton in the news but hardly anything about this horrific loss of life in Africa? I thank Lucy Liu for the work she's doing and I hope she's able to shine a light on the horrors of life for children in war zones and the great work Unicef is doing for children around the world.

Good for Lucy Liu! Celebs have so much power to do good and get others excited/involved.

I personally suspect trips like this make them more interested in doing independent films that build awareness of these issues... the more people know and get involved, the more they feel compelled to be part of the solution... and that's good for all.
