The planet already has enough pollution that we must look towards into sustainable energy production that will protect the planet and benefit all its inhabitants. We cannot allow more unsustainable and polluting energy production methods to continue polluting this planet.

We need a at least SOME positive actions towards a sustainable future from our currently elected so called "representatives".... the ones who currently control the use of OUR taxes.
They are simply not hearing the voices of their greatly concerned citizens... us VOTERS!
One leader shines in Aussie Politics... Bob Brown.
No only does he listen, he ACTIVELY supports our voices.

wow... cool, thanks for the update Ali. This petition is a symbolic gesture really... but has clearly shown that some honest politicians are listening, and prepared to take action and support what is just simple common sense. The solutions are currently available, having 1000 names behind them makes these solutions a little easier to see.
As far as I am aware petitions no longer carry any weight on our democratic rights... even if we were to raise 100,000 signatures, we could not force a referendum.

We have another process though... thank goodness...
we still have our precious VOTE!

Signed and noted Anne. I hope that the people here will think hard before they vote on Saturday. Thank god for the Greens party. I hope they get more of them into the senate, we need their votes on the important issues of climate change and other social issues.

I am very grateful (and humbled by) everyone's enthusiastic support.
I simply cannot describe how I feel... it's as if all our hard work and dedication to justice is finally paying off...
and the results are just around the corner.
I see a clear road forwards and it leads right between the goal posts!

I am also very grateful to be able to vote for the Greens.

Howard is gone, our children's future rests tenderly in the hands of the ALP. Hopefully the wording of this petition shines plenty of light onto the clean, sustainable "energy road"... that the ALP will not be able to lose their way in the darkenss of corporate greed and dirty energy.
