BLM's Palomino Valley Facility in Nevada seems to be drastically under-reporting the actual number of horses and burros that have died under its "care."

This was reported in May. I can only imagine the death tolls during the heat of the summer months where these horses were kept without shade in 105 degree temps (July)...that was above ground temps. Ground temperatures were estimated at 160 degrees. No BLM employees were observed caring for these horses outside...they were in air conditioned on-site office accommodations. BLM PVC water trough is a refilling trough, but problem is there is only 1 per 60 to 80 horses ..held captive in the desert. Only dominant horses have easy access to the drinking water. When we spoke w Director Beck, on 8/6 after the workshop, he said they could not add more troughs, because there was a water pressure problem at BLM's PVC facility...and if they added more troughs they would lose water pressure in their restroom, he added the horses are "fine" and they can "wait" for water. ARE YOU ANGRY YET???

Of course the BLM will give false figures on horse and burro deaths. They won't be happy until EVERY wild horse and burro has been eradicated. Why, the grazing lands can then be passed over to their fat-assed friends, the money-grabbing, profiteering ranchers. Don't forget their equally fat-assed, money-grabbing, profiteering kill buyers, who very, very quietly ship out of the back door, these wild horses and burros to be taken for slaughter in either Canada or Mexico. Soon, all there will left are pictures for next generations to look at as once the BLM have slaughtered all the horses, that's it, the icons of America will be GONE.

Thank you can find a lot of petitions for wild horses and anti horse slaughter links on my page.
There are many wonderful groups and individuals working on behalf of our wild horses. RJ Fitch has a great blog (wrote a great book), Joe Camp's blog is excellent and his books are FANTASTIC! (you can read his article "How to Save America's Wild Horses" in my ShareBook), The Cloud Foundation, WildHorseEducation. org (Laura Leigh), EPONA and several others.

You are spot on, Irene! There is now, however an even greater (and dangerous) threat to our wild horses on public lands than cattle ranchers and that is the oil and gas fracking companies. I am convinced that is what is behind the removal of the wild herds in Wyoming. This is really scary because of the chemicals they put into the ground and spills into the public and private lands when they truck them to the sites. These chemmicals are carcinogenic and seep into the water supply. Big Business is going to ruin the lands and the health of the people.

Signed and noted. Thanks Judy, Rhonda, Lynn. BLM employees and their friends are death merchants. For decades, no matter who is in the White House, they ply their death trade. It's long past time to stop them.

Noted. Right now I am crying! I can't understand how the BLM can get away with this. Obviously these equines have suffered immensely before death. I can't find the petition. If some one can help me out my email is Thank you in advance to any one who can help.
