The technical term for the environmental nightmare that is unfolding in front of us is "acid mine drainage." Acid mine drainage has plagued mine sites from Pennsylvania to El Salvador for centuries.

It is a pact with the devil since anything done in the name of greed or that which destroys the planet is evil. Thanks Judy.

As world population increases, the gulf between the haves and have-nots will grow more profound. This means there will be more indiscriminate pillaging of our beautiful planet -- both by the desperate poor, and the unstoppably powerful. This is to be our fate. So glad I won't be around to see humanity's last dying gasps. It definitely won't be pretty. Heck! It's not pretty now.
