Long since driven out of AIG, Greenberg is waging a lawsuit claiming the U.S. hurt the firm's shareholders -- including him -- when the government rescued the insurance giant with the most humongous bailout of all time.

Hank Greenberg can't deal with the facts. Those being what they are I don't blame him for not being able to deal with them. I Challenge him to try instead.

Shot into space? I like it - that's a grand idea. Could we include some other top executives and maybe some politicians in that space shot? Please.

He is a crybaby of the first order--how fair would it have been to take the easier road, which was to shut the bastard firm down totally?! He is a greedy and ungrateful soul who has clearly lost his way!

BTW, space is not a great place to put him.

If an advanced alien race found him, they would conclude that all of us were like him and might inaide

It would be cheaper to put Hank and his cronies in a double decker cattle semi and drop them off in the center of a Mexican drug cartel war. The driver can walk away if he gives the cartel the truck.

Why pollute space with the likes of him. Dropping him down a fracking well or into the oil sands would be a better place surely. Then there would be just the one source of pollution.

I'm partial to Matt Taibbi, and if he says a space shot, then I'm bound by my long time membership in his fan club.

Shot into space? That's cruel and inhumane! What did the Universe do to deserve Hank Greenberg?

Great article by Matt Taibbi. Much thanks, Judy. *I'm sorry I'm unable to send you a star since I sent one in the past week.
Latest update I've read is that there will be no lawsuit. Guess he couldn't take the media heat....about time! Let's keep the heat on.

Lol. Great comments, everyone. This guy knows no shame, and his scheming to extract more cash from any situation knows no bounds! If he had gone through with the lawsuit, I would think Greenberg would have been laughed out of court. Maybe not, though, since he has one of the best attorneys in the business. When AIG declined to join him in the lawsuit, that opened up the possibility of Greenberg suing them for interfering with his lawsuit. However, his attorney, David Boies, quickly put the damper on that idea. I do think Hank would make a delightful bunk mate for Bernie Madoff.

Hank Greenberg should thank God that the United States government bailed out AIG. As far as I was concerned AIG should have gone under! And nobody would get any money back.

That is another example of a rich privileged person thinking that he is more than entitled to do and get whatever he wishes. In other words......A Rich Spoiled Elder Brat!!

It is ridiculous that AIG and other financial giants were bailed out. If a smaller business fails, it simply goes out of business. Not only did these behemoths fail, but they did so because of unethical and illegal conduct. So then we bail them out, because they're bigger than the rules. The government should have put these institutions into receivership, and fired all the management. This way they could have avoided rewarding incompetent and criminal behavior, and kept these businesses running.
