When its hot they come out and the noise here tells me its summer, then at the end of summer they burrow down into the earth to hibernate and when it rains they can drown and if you dont hear a cicada during summer then think back to winter and ask yourself if it rained where you live and that is your answer as to why they arent making their welcoming Summer appearance.
