Bankers and brokers are making big bucks plus bonuses. The rest of us? No one cares.

This "trickle-down" effect really does work doesn't it... yet without the most common job, industries would collapse... leaders, owners and the rich, take note...

Minimum wage needs to be between $15. and $20. per hour to match the living standards of the 1960's and 70's.

Pretty disgusting when people at the top do a lousy job and then walk away with millions in bonuses anyway and even if fired have golden parachutes. Those are the same people fighting against minimum wage increases and health care for the workers because it will cost the company big bucks. Sorry state our country is in. It's more trickle up than trickle down. Everything they don't pay you goes in their own pockets enriching them even more so they can have golden toilet seats while you try and feed your family on minimum wage. The worst part is that they have done a good job at convincing many (republican) people that it's the right way to do things.

It become $7 or less after taxes, Not $9.00 hour paid where US President ask for. Still making ends meat for those common jobs. Executives, Chief Managers, etc are enjoying luxury lifestyle with subsidize paid (bonus) and tax breaks.

It's a Pandemic of Inequality Paid across the globe since AD. Rich Dog take big bite out of Poor Dog Earth.

this is for FULL time work? The majority of jobs are PART time!!!!! As in no medical, no benefits, no reimbursement for mode of travel to work a crappy job. Up keep insurence on car, bus fair and figuring out schedule and routes that coincide with night, weekend work.
Plus, you have to buy a wardrobe that is appropriate for the job...so what if you itemize on your taxes, it may not be enough to qualify, but still takes a bite out of what is left for the food budget.

1.5% of our population does not know what they should do with all their money, and we have to suffer.

I just peeked in on the stock mkt. today....14,700, and it recently hit an all-time high--so did S&P. (Funny how I remember last time it did that right around this time of year, the "fat-finger" hit the button and semi-crashed it just a few weeks later in May). So, all the CEO's and hedge fund managers, banksters, etc...take their profits (winnings) and the rest of us get the shaft. They could easily afford to pay a higher minimum wage---they are selfish, mean, cruel and destructive to America. ALEC & the Koch Bros. have their dirty hands all over this.

Noted and shared. Workers are just going to have to learn to unite and fight as ONE voice for better pay and benefits. This is commonly referred to as Organize and Unionize. Unions are your friend, not your enemy. If you think otherwise, then get involved in the Union rather than sitting back bitching.

I don't know how people can defend the business practices of our bankers and other CEOs. Trickel down is really trickel up.

Long ago unions warned us about the long term effects globalization would have on our wages. I'm not sure if workers wages in third world countries have risen or not, but here we are definitely less well off than in my parents day.

Susan Allen said it correctly.....Unionize and organize. It is what our ancestors had to do so that we even had what we did for a life.

Don't keep voting in the same crooks. Or known crooks, like the one they did here in Florida, Rick Scott. You get what you vote in. Come on people, do your research and stop listening to those sound bites.

Tax the rich, they have made out well using the labor of those who work for them, they use the roads, the internet, bridges, all things that were paid for with taxpayer monies. It was their wars they got us into, let them pay for those wars. Enough of our sons and daughters paid with their lives. Stop supporting their lies!

Also wanted to say, these Credit ratings and this Esteem and HireRight along with a host of other data bases that are on people who have little if any idea at all of what they contain is so wrong. People's lives have been taken from them, and they don't even know why or how it was done. These people are the lucky ones in that they somehow in the end found out.

We are being accused of so many things on these data bases and we have no way to know whether it is truthful or not, yet others are looking at them and without knowing the facts are basing decisions upon us. We don't get a right to a trial or hearing, and worst of all even able to fix this mess.

There was a whole segment on 60 Minutes about these fraudulant credit reports and there is no way to correct the errors on there without hiring some high priced Attorney who they themselves are having a difficult time clearing up the messes.

How does one pull themselves up by the bootstraps when so much is being held against you, from low wages, high cost of living, and fraudulant information being dispersed against many people.

Thanks to everyone for some excellent comments. I only wish they weren't true.

Unions were once the great hope of the working person. The overlords did a great assassination propaganda number on the unions (not that they were perfectly flawless), and many people were gullible enough to swallow it. They call it divide and conquer. People need to band together. Have we already forgotten that we are the 99%?
