Here's What the Big Bang Probably Sounded Like

Theoretical question time! If a universe suddenly explodes into existence, does it make a sound? The answer: Yes, of course it does silly, at least according to University of Washington physicist John Cramer who has created a simulation...

That is one weird sound concoction he decide to use. I guess no one can say if he right or wrong. Of course, if no one is there to interpret the sound, what then would it be called?

One weird sound. Total agreement with Kit.

does it make a sound? No as you need air to hear it exploded and there in no air in space.

Bang schmang. It means little to me unless it pays the bills.

I thought this was an interesting idea. There's no air in space, David, true. That's what I thought second, after first briefly thinking of the classic question, if a tree falls in the forest with no one to hear it, does it make a sound?

The physicist who thought this up gives a fuller explanation of how he came up with this idea on his University's website:

The Sound of the Big Bang: Planck Version (2013)

I enjoyed this as a distraction after watching far too much coverage of the Boston bomber's capture. I thought my head would blow up from too much of that! (lol) Besides that, in the article, the comments readers made that pop up as the sound file plays are pretty funny.

Oh yes, I forgot to say Kit also asked a question that's a kind of twist on the tree in the forest question. Various scriptures, whether one is a believer or not, talk of Sound, or of The Word, as the beginning of creation.
