"Fierce opposition" is truly needed. A pox on Transcanada. Why would Harper fund such a thing knowing the people of his land object??

They really have no inclination to take any steps to preserve the safety of the people or the land. Harper and his "government" are even dirtier than advertised. Truly despicable. Gas pipeline begin converted to carry tar sands that should be a major environmental disaster. I hope the people of Canada are ready to fight this.

TransCanada’s new plan involves converting 1,864 miles of a natural gas pipeline to carry oil, and the construction of 870 miles of new pipeline, mainly in Quebec and New Brunswick. It has long-term contracts to carry about 900,000 barrels of oil a day along the route, Mr. Girling said.
